Cincinnati’s notoriously good Graeter’s Ice Cream has rolled out several new ice cream and gelato flavors, generously sending the CU offices six hand-packed pints to try. The new flavors include Dark Chocolate Mint Crunch Gelato, Bourbon Pecan Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, Toasted Coconut Gelato, Bananas Foster Gelato, and Black Raspberry Gelato.
Dark Chocolate Mint Crunch is a creamy dark chocolate gelato infused with crunchy cookie pieces that taste straight out of a sleeve of your favorite girl scout cookies. The Toasted Coconut and Bananas Foster both taste like the real deal, light and full in flavor without being overbearing. Toasted Coconut has real coconut flakes, while Bananas Foster includes pieces of butter rum candy that slowly melt into the gelato, melding the flavors. Graeter’s signature massive chocolate chunks and pecan pieces scatter throughout the bourbon-vanilla base of the Bourbon Pecan Chocolate Chip ice cream. The Black Raspberry is simple, tangy and smooth. In any case, the new flavors are delicious.
The Bourbon Pecan Chocolate Chip ice cream is available in Graeter’s shops now, while the gelato flavors will be individually released throughout spring, eventually making it to a grocery aisle shelf near you. Graeter’s Columbus locations include stores in Worthington, Bexley, and Upper Arlington.
