Goodwill Columbus announced a plan today to redevelop its 5.4-acre property in Fifth by Northwest.

The nonprofit has hired Columbus-based developer Elford to come up with a plan for the site, which sits at the southwest corner of Fifth Avenue and Edgehill Road and currently holds a collection of one-to-three story buildings containing the organization’s headquarters, an art gallery and other operations.

Although details of the development have not been announced – and public plans have yet to be submitted to the City of Columbus – a press release stated that it will be a mixed-use project and will include a new headquarters and a “flagship retail store.”

In close proximity to the site are several recent mixed-use and residential developments, including The View on Fifth,The Quinn, Apartments on Edgehill, the Commons at Third, and, just to the south, Grandview Yard.

“As Goodwill envisions its future of transforming lives through the power of work, we are committed to creating a campus that celebrates and supports our organization’s 80-year mission of serving individuals in the surrounding neighborhood and throughout central Ohio,” said Marjory Pizzuti, President and CEO of Goodwill Columbus.
