If you’re a regular customer to Cup O Joe / MoJoe Lounge in German Village, then you might be surprised to be greeted by the above message if you attempt to stop by today. The popular shop at 627 South Third Street closed up yesterday for a major remodeling project that will take place over the next six to eight weeks.
Cup O Joe President Mark Swanson said that the abrupt closure is due to the approval process taking less time than originally planned, so the project is moving forward ahead of schedule.
As for what the renovations include, Swanson is keeping that a secret for just a little bit longer.
“We hope to announce everything by the end of the week,” he confirmed. “And we are reminding people that the Downtown MoJoe is ready to serve.”
In the meantime, Swanson is also providing the German Village Society, located nearby at 588 South Third, with free coffee to brew and hand out to those looking for a quick fix. He expects that to be set up by Wednesday this week.
