GCAC Presents: MythBusters – The Explosive Exhibition

Can you huff, puff and blow a house in? Does toast always tend to land butter-side down? Does running in the rain get you less wet than walking through it? Can you really make a canoe out of duct tape?

Spend a day in COSI’s latest limited-engagement exhibition, MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition, to uncover the truth behind these myths (and lots more) for yourself.

MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition comes to COSI straight from Discovery Channel’s Emmy®-nominated series, MythBusters, where wild hypotheses are put to the test in wildly entertaining experiments.

MythBusters Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, along with co-hosts, Tory Belleci, Grant Imahara and Kari Byron, combine their expertise in special effects to relentlessly test every myth within busting distance. If that should involve air cannons, blast shields, duct tape or crash dummies in speeding cars… so much the better.

The hit Discovery Channel show mixes curiosity, fun, and the scientific method to bust myths, and MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition follows the same sure-fire formula.

To keep it as close to the original environment as possible, MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition is filled with props, tools, interactive videos, and illustrations—straight from the hands of the MythBusters themselves. Mythbusters: The Explosive Exhibition is your chance to try your hand at busting some new myths, as well as some old favorites.

With the help of real (and often well-worn) props from the show, you’ll confront myths in hands-on experiments and mental challenges, then add your results to the results collected by everyone who has visited the exhibition. Who knew scientific experimentation could be so, well…so fun?!?

Don’t try MythBusting at home this summer…try it at COSI!

MythBusters: The Explosive Exhibition is now open Monday through Saturday, 10am-5pm and Sunday noon – 6pm through September 2 at the COSI, 333 W. Broad Street. Visit cosi.org or call 614/228/2674 for more info.
