The Gateway (formerly known as South Campus Gateway) continues to see a lot of new retail changes into the start of the new year. As we reported last June, Steiner & Associates has recently taken over retail leasing operations, quickly bringing new tenants in to fill vacant spaces at the University District development.

The two newest additions being a Jimmy John’s that is relocating from 1860 North High Street, and a new Starbucks, filling in the prominent spot located at the northwest corner of 10th and High.

“With every retail project, there is a lynchpin space that can be seen as the catalyst for the on-going leasing plan and we are excited about the potential of Starbucks filling that space here at Gateway,” said Campus Partners President Amanda Hoffsis. “Starbucks is an inarguable traffic generator and we firmly believe its presence will mean increased visibility and visitors for each tenant in our development.”

In other recent news, drinkware company Tervis opened a brick-and-mortar location at the Gateway in December. Yoga Six also opened their Gateway location in December. Eddie George’s Grill 27 opted not to renew their lease and is relocating to Grandview Yard. Raising Cane’s is opening in the former Potbelly location on February 1st. And California-based Pizza Rev is under construction with their soon-to-open Gateway location.

A representative from the Gateway confirmed that the center is currently 95% committed, with only three remaining retail spaces available for lease at this point in time.
