The South Campus Gateway is getting a taste for raw fish next month with the grand opening of FUSIAN, a fast-casual sushi restaurant where you can choose your own ingredients to create your own rolls. The restaurant is the brainchild of brothers (and OSU grads) Zach and Josh Weprin, along with partner Stephan Harman. They launched their first FUSIAN location in Downtown Cincinnati in 2010 with a second location at the University of Dayton.
“We love Columbus and we knew we’d be back,” said co-founder Zach. “Three years ago, it became our dream to develop this concept and bring it here. It is the perfect market for us and it feels great to be back home living and working in the Short North and Campus areas.”
The new restaurant will be located in a 2200 square foot space next to Potbelly in the South Campus Gateway. In addition to rolling your own sushi ideas, the menu also offers traditional types of sushi rolls, side salads, miso soup and edamame. FUSIAN also prides itself on offering gluten-free,vegan and vegetarian options as well.
“We’re really excited to have them here,” said Erin Prosser, Director of Community Relations at Campus Partners. “They have been very successful at their other locations and they are very excited about Columbus. Plus, I love sushi so I am really looking forward to having it around the corner.”
FUSIAN is planning to open the first week of February.
