Franklin Park Conservatory Adds Children’s Garden, Expanded Visitor Experience
Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens has announced two expansion projects, including its “newly expanded visitor experience” and the launch of The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation Children’s Garden. This is the conservatory’s largest expansion to date.
The expanded visitor experience comes at the addition of ten acres of land—extending from three acres to 13—dedicated to more exhibitions, art installations, events, classes and formal gardens. Plans for exhibits include the expansion of the autumn-themed exhibition Harvest Blooms in the fall, the conservatory’s holiday light show Columbus Aglow, as well as Topiaries at the Conservatory, a flamingo topiary installation set for May 19.
Conservatory President and CEO Bruce Harkey spoke to Columbus Underground last fall about the expansion plans and the decision to fence off land that was previously open to the public.
