I still can’t believe how nice the Arena District would have been if the Casino was there…
Yeah, the Arena District is a total dump. If only it had a casino on the far western edge. Then it would be nice.May 20, 2016 4:15 pm at 4:15 pm in reply to: Platform Beer (Cleveland) setting up shop near Columbus State #1127625
Pretty sure Richmond gave them everything but the kitchen sink in incentives/tax breaks. And that was the major factor..
I’m fairly certain that the team from Columbus that was pulling for Stone to come here practically guaranteed that the Ohio ABV could be changed/updated prior to their brewing facility being operational, as the economic driver of their facility would help expedite the legislation in a very nonpartisan fashion. So I doubt that was a factor at all in their decision making.May 20, 2016 10:15 am at 10:15 am in reply to: Platform Beer (Cleveland) setting up shop near Columbus State #1127544
I used to live in St. Louis and there were several microbreweries off the beaten path that were very successful.
We have those here too. Actual is located out by the Airport, Zaftig is on Schrock Road, CBC is now in Valleyview, Hoof Hearted is (primarily) in Marengo, etc…
Have you read the comments on CU’s Facebook posts? ;)
Not just us on Facebook… it’s all of Facebook. Go check out 10TV’s FB comments if you dare. ;)
Yelpers seem disappointed with the place so far. A lot of 1-2 star reviews recently.
Interesting interview on WOSU, no longer available on their website…
It’s back up today, along with the full story from them.
Looks like it was published accidentally yesterday (Sunday – not a great day for releasing big news).
I think what Walker is saying is that it was never really ‘alive’.
I’m assuming this is dead now, right?
(Sorry, this is in reply to Walker’s comment about the grocery store.)
I think it’s less that it’s dead… and more that the news announcement was premature. I don’t believe a lease was ever signed, so this was never an official thing.
What a way to piss on the original.
Uh. You can still watch the original. They’re not destroying all copies of it and replacing with the new one.
Honestly, Forecastle Fest in Louisville that same weekend is the same price/cheaper and looks a lot better.
Don’t forget to factor in travel costs and hotel pricing if you plan to stay overnight in Louisville.May 3, 2016 11:18 am at 11:18 am in reply to: Looking to Rent!(short north, victorian village, Italian Village, Arena District #1125285
So did the proposal that was approved say anything about the hotel on the surface lot?
Then the B plot for the season in the south – Martells vs Lannisters. Still don’t love the stuff I’ve seen so far of the Martells left – Ellaria and the Sand Snakes, but we’ll see what happens now that they have the power in Dorne. I def did not see Doran & Trystane getting killed. Jaw dropped
I didn’t notice this myself, but read somewhere that with Prince Doran killed, and his son Prince Trystane killed, House Martell is technically over as all blood heirs have been killed off in their family tree (unless Doran had other children we’re not aware of).
All of the women left in charge are Sands (bastards) and technically have no true claim to House Martell.
Not sure if that really changes anything in the big picture if the people of Dorne are behind “The Sand Mutiny”, but it will be interesting to see if that comes into play somehow.
