What about the old Scotty McBean’s location? Definitely set up for a kitchen and it’s been vacant for 2+ years. There’s also a small restaurant equipped space next to the Caribou on N High (think it used to be a Quizno’s. Maybe too small)

    Hey Kitoba,

I was about to hit the same topic but you beat me to it. I am an advocate of using the proper words for the situation, and the use of “intellectual” in my original post was in no way intended to promote my own intelligence, belittle others, or do anything except describe with one adjective what would have taken a sentence otherwise. I also agree that “intellectual” seems much more politically charged than say “artist” or “athlete” which is perhaps a result of living for the last 8 years in the most anti-intellectual regime since Pol Pot.

Perhaps it’s just a part of the shift away from the better vocabulary words in our language, and a view that to use such words is somehow uppity and elitist. For example, I doubt anyone would have a problem with me referring to Lisa the Waitress as a “foodie,” least of all her. However, if I were to refer to her as a “gourmet” I’m sure I would draw a similar smattering of comments. Of course, in referring to herself, the G word would likely lead some to unfairly label her a snob. (love your site by the way)

I’m rambling, but words are important to me and I hate to see them unfairly vilified.

Thanks, The St James looks promising. Local micros and smart conversation sound like a winning combination. I’m not really looking for a chess game per se, I just threw that out there to get the idea across.
