Saw on CoGo’s Facebook page that they are talking about expansion soon. Did some digging on Columbus Parks and Rec page that expansion in Fall 2014 will be Harrison West, Near East and Franklinton! Also perhaps 2015 to OSU, Bexley and Grandview! Great news.
This definitely sounds like a cool addition to the area. I like that there will be a fine dining area above the market as well. I noticed at the end of the article it mentioned a Jazz and Rib bar in the “Center” of it all. That leads me to believe it Yavonne may be opening the restaurant in the new apartments across the street. Very exciting.
My wife and I went last night and it was definitely a long dinner experience, like 3 hours long. But to help support Otani it was worth it. The place was hopping and the karaoke was as you would expect…entertaining. I really hope they make it and that they prepare a bit more for today and the rest of the week. The servers and manager were fantastic and apologetic for the long wait as well. I encourage everyone who has enjoyed it to at least give it a shot this week.
That garage is definitely in really poor shape. I walk by there a couple times a month at lunch time and you can see the re-bar exposed, concrete crumbling and the floors seem to be sagging. I hope they can do something with it to either tear down and rebuild with ground floor retail or renovate the existing structure (if possible) to help add tome life to Long St.August 19, 2013 5:42 pm at 5:42 pm in reply to: Edwards Communities Apartments Proposed Next to AMC Dublin Theater #531516
I have heard from a few people that this may have hit a snag. Originally, the current tenants had to be out of there by the end of July but now there is no time table. Has any one heard more definite info on this project?
I just saw a tweet that another CoGo location is going in at the Dorrian Commons Park by the court house. That adds a nice stop between Broad and German Village.
This is great news! I love REI. My wallet…not so much!
An ambitious plan except for this statement:
An elevated pedestrian path and walkways would connect COSI with the zoo and the new museum and arts center.
Is this a plan from the 1980’s?
I was thinking the exact same thing when I read this article this morning. I can understand wanting to connect COSI and the zoo exhibit if they were to package entrance into one ticket, but that still could be done without having an elevated walkway to connect the two. All that does is take more potential people off the streets. Similar to the walkways from Nationwide.April 26, 2013 12:34 pm at 12:34 pm in reply to: Ticket Giveaway to Upcoming Promowest Shows! – Passion Pit #540746

I currently live in the condos being discussed here. I have always said that if I could pick up the condo and move it closer to downtown it would be awesome. The Condo Fees aren’t too bad and for a while I used the gym there too (I now use Urban Active, which is right in front of these). The place isn’t too bad, a little WT now though. However, now that the Construction is done on HR Road it has added bike lanes and sidewalks from Meijer all the way into Hilliard which is nice. The restaurants are okay but truly (as mentioned earlier) all chains which is okay in moderation, but HR isn’t moderation at all. It really feels like Sawmill Rd to me and I am not a fan of that. The drive to downtown isn’t bad (15 min usually) and contrary to many of the postings here you really can walk to many of the places. True you have to cut through a few parking lots but for the most part there are sidewalks all over the place now. The area between Meijer and I-70 being the exception.
I wish there were more sidewalks in the complex, but I doubt that will ever happen. However, for the price of 70k it isn’t terrible, but at no point should the realtor be pushing your friend in any way. That is total BS.
The thing I never understood with giving the money back was why the state couldn’t have used it for other passenger rail initiatives. If 3C wasn’t going to happen why couldn’t it be used to upgrade the existing Amtrak lines in Northern Ohio or perhaps create a spur from Cleveland to Akron or something like that. I am not sure if that was even something that could have been a possibility to do with the money but it may have made more sense than starting up the 3C. It was at least a solid step in the right direction.
Well if they can get some smoke pouring out of there then it really can look like a power plant cooling tower.
I went last night for the member’s sneak preview. Pretty solid job done this year, as with most years past as well. I would highly suggest not going on a weekend as vestanpance said, it gets pretty darn crowded up there.October 25, 2011 4:13 pm at 4:13 pm in reply to: Columbus may be losing independent alt rocker CD101 to Christian talk or music #466936
CD 101/102.5 FM is the only station other than Satellite radio ones that I listen to here. I would be really disappointed if this happened. Don’t we already have a few Christian Stations in town?
