Philadelphia is in town tomorrow. Philly will be on the second night of a back to back, but if Mason gets the start for Philly, it will be the first time Bob and Mason are on the same ice (Bob was out with an injury when we played Philly in December). Should be an interesting game.

Where do the “Real-Time Bus Tracking System” signs go?

So, the 6 game winning streak evidently ties a franchise record. Johansen’s quote is a damning indictment of the Blue Jackets, past and present:

“‘I was kind of surprised the (franchise record) was only six games,’ Johansen said.”

Here’s a nice little article with some history on the house for anyone who is still interested.

Net neutrality is not necessarily dead. Essentially, the court ruled that the FCC exceeded its authority when promulgating the Net Neutrality rules. The Volokh Conspiracy has an interesting take:

D.C. Circuit Rejects “Net Neutrality” Rule[/url]

“This victory for Verizon and the other petitioners may be short-lived, however, as the majority opinion suggests alternative steps the FCC could take to effectuate a ‘net neutrality’ policy without exceeding its statutory constraints.”

So the FCC could go back to the drawing board and try Net Neutrality again. Also, congress could, you know, do something.

Wow apparently getting thumped by the jackets last night was the final straw for the Winnipeg Jets coach..

…who coincidentally was briefly the CBJ interim head coach. The NHL is a small world!

The thing that blew my mind about the affluenza case is it took place in Texas. Texas! Not a place known for being defendant-friendly, although apparently as politically-corrupt as anywhere else.

Haha, yeah I suppose you’re right. This situation highlights how children of the rich and powerful receive lenience that the poor and minorities etc. don’t. I agree that’s a real problem in our society.

Still, you can gawk at the car crash without gleefully dancing around the wreckage.

All I’m saying is she’s no different from a thousand other fools out there with similarly long rap sheets. The only thing that makes her the least bit distinctive is her dad and those commercials.

This whole attitude of “she was drunk and obnoxious and maybe said something rude at the club one time so I love to see her crash and burn” is just distasteful.

While I have no dog on this fight, who doesn’t enjoy karma?

Karma for what? She has bad karma because her dad makes annoying commercials?

Here’s the thing – I know all of you guys piling on have DVR, so how often do you really see those commercials anyways? It’s a very ’90s reason to hate somebody!

Given that, I have to wonder exactly where they take this next season.

I think they set it up to have many more places to go next season:

    Carrie in Turkey
Saul’s life in the private sector
The gang back in Langley with crotchety old director Lockhart
Javadi is the new Brody – newly powerful and unclear if he is a good guy or bad guy
    Grandpa’s misadventures raising Carrie’s daughter

I also see Carrie/Quinn being the new interminable will-they or won’t-they love story for the show.

I also really like Cameron’s restaurants. My favorite is the original Cameron’s on 161, with Cap City a close second. His restaurants consistently provide good food/service/atmosphere, etc.

The Philadelphia restaurant does sound like it has some serious issues that need to be addressed. That review was a pretty epic take down, but in the spirit of the season keep in mind that Philly is the city that booed Santa Claus.

    In other words, tough crowd.

Everything on that menu looks pretty good to me.

The sweetbreads eugenie wouldn’t be out of place on a modern hipster gastropub menu.

Dinner served from 5-7:30. Even in the heyday of downtown shopping, downtown must’ve emptied out early.

It’s interesting that NO ONE–and I MEAN no one will go on the record about the status of this project: not ARSHOT, not the FC commissioners, not the city, not the Dispatch, not 610WTVN. The silence is deafening and TELLING.

Well, have you asked them? There are phone numbers on the web for each of those groups. Give em a call.
