While I enjoy some of their beers, I can’t help think that decisions like this are what will lead to the inevitable burst of the craft beer bubble.
I live 20 minutes west of their location in Cleveland and they don’t even distribute their beer in my county (Lorain). They are nearly nonexistent in the Akron/Canton area. Their idea of self distribution is archaic and they continue to grow way too quickly especially when I find it hard that the demand is there for their product.
The city isn’t big enough for two music festivals. I would rather see the one being run by people who actually have experience in the music business (PW) work instead of the half assed one being put on by guys in it for a cash grab.
Pretty lame to not announce a lineup. I feel this festival and Bunbury are really the only major festivals in the country who haven’t announced their lineup.
This will be successful and hopefully will put FMMF out of business.
New blog post with an update on the project: https://www.brewdog.com/lowdown/blog/columbus-calling
Biggest news is that they have picked East Franklinton as the location for their BrewDog bar.
Can’t blame them. John Fogerty can’t be cheap to book and I’m sure the city doesn’t want to being paying to put on a free show for people who aren’t from their town.
The author of the Brew Dog blog said himself their announcement on Wednesday was what they planned to release on Friday.
The announcement on Wednesday was what they were suppose to release today.

Does a 42 acre site preclude anything from the Downtown or Franklinton area?
i might be remembering it incorrectly, but didn’t it say 42 hectares?
42 hectares is approximately 0.16 square miles which is just under 1/2 mile by 1/2 mile.
Did I do all that right?
42 hectares wasn’t correct. It’s 42 acres and that is directly from Brew Dog.
Outside of that slide they shared last weekend, no details or any in depth discussion was had about the Columbus brewery.
Brew Dog did Post on their blog today that all the details will be announced on Friday.
Horrible news. It doesn’t look promising for the future of the paper based on the portfolio of the New Media Group.
James just tweeted he’s at Bodega right now
James Watt just asked for Columbus beer bar recommendations on Twitter.
James Watt, co-owner of Brew Dogs, just sent out a Tweet asking if Columbus, Ohio needed a Brew Dogs brewpub
Trust me, it does not take long for Costco to get their warehouses up.
Costco has a tentative open date of May 2016 and since they can contruct their entire warehouse within a 3 month period I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not until late 2015 or even early 2016 for construction to start on the project.
