So the new Mound becomes a dead zone between Grant and S. 5th, with a few parking garages and nothing else, much like parts of Front. Welcome to Downtown, indeed.
I can’t imagine that the parking structures will only accommodate the lost spaces, hopefully they’ll also help eliminate the acres and acres of surface lots (mostly Franklin’s) to free up space for new greenspace and/or development. It seems hard to criticize the building of dense parking structures for a feeder street/exit ramp.January 28, 2014 5:43 pm at 5:43 pm in reply to: Trotter's Park – 140-Unit Apartment Development in Harrison West #555488
Does anyone know where the USTA will be relocating, are they staying in the area?
I’m dreaming of something like this anchoring the first floor of the yet-to-be-unveiled Edwards Co. apartment building at Gay & High, amongst several other new build sites in the works too of course
The new renderings look awesome!
Future valet dropoff/pickup area?
It’s better than the vacant weed-filled lot that’s been there since the restaurant closed. There are quite a few other parcels up and down high street nearby that hopefully will fill in now that a franchise chain trusts the area’s potential.
Glad to see they’re keeping the original sign framework – can’t be too far from opening.
Just heard of another break and High & Main, can anyone confirm?
Thank you spennyjo, this has puzzled me for way too many years!
+1 Walker! I can’t help making the Zorg/Elk & Elk guy connection now
I snapped a bunch of progress photos on 12-20, just as the waters started to rise for reference… Full album here

I stepped outside and noticed they’re getting ready to lift off the mega AC units on the roof today…
I might be overly optimistic by assuming “small but comfortable micro apartments” also equals affordable, wishful thinking!
Not sure of exact numbers but that garage is used by the entire block, including whatever happens to LeVeque, I’m sure there are some reserved levels of the garage dedicated to its future.
The garage was expanded by an additional two levels some time ago (7 yrs?) so there must have been some demand.
