Our dear neighbors…so sorry to hear about this. Please let us know what we can do to help!
What a great enhancement to the area!
Thanks to everyone who worked hard on the planning to make Season 2 Bigger and Better! J. Gumbo’s will be one of the Gay Street brick-and-mortar stores participating yet again and we’re looking forward to it. We’ll open at our regular opening Saturday time of 11am and will stay open throughout the evening for Moonlight Market!
Thanks to everyone who joined us and who waited through the long lines. We’re glad to hear that the lines moved quickly and that everything was tasty!
Our 5 year anniversary on Gay Street is mid-July…we’ll have to come up with something really special.
We’re glad to see another business expanding their hours! The continued growth of the area will encourage the many small businesses to expand their hours. The addition of beer/wine/liquor will also help in the competing non-lunch hours. Congrats, Cafe Napolitano! We recently expanded our hours to 8pm, Monday through Saturday and hope that business and sales will allow us to keep these hours.
Yay! We can’t wait and are excited to welcome our new neighbors to Gay Street.
CU Happy Hour Meet Up this Thursday, Aug 25 – hope to see you there!
Thanks Mister Shifter, we appreciate the support and I’m glad you liked it! Actually, I think I helped you….towards the end of lunch? See you soon and hope you can make it to this Thursdsys CU Happy Hour at J. Gumbo’s.
@johnwashere – thanks for the feedback. We’re considering keeping the Chicken Red Hot (aka Buffalo Chicken) on the menu permanently. It’ll be on the menu through the Fall if not permanently. You’ll definitely have to check out happy hour as we have several $4 small plates, including a trio of slider sandwiches with a mix and match of Voodoo Chicken, Drunken Chicken and Buffalo Chicken and they’re accompanied with a side of Zapp’s chips. I see a trio of buffalo chicken sliders in your future!
Also, stay tuned for details about a CU/JGumbo’s event in August!
See you soon.
@buffalos, I’m sorry to hear about your less than pleasant experience. We offer free samples of all of our products, so if you do decide to come back, please ask us for a sample of anything so that we can try to find something that you’d like — or, just bring the item back and we’ll try to find something else for you, give you a refund or give you a gift card. Obviously, we don’t want to lose your business, but can respect the fact that you prefer another place. If you do ever come back, please ask for me, Chad — I’m the owner. If I’m not around and you have feedback/comments/etc about that experience, I’d love to hear from you. You can message me here on CU or via email at [email protected] or call me at 614-469-9900. Thanks!
Walker, thanks for posting the new happy hour menu. We’ve been thrilled by the support and the happy hour business. For those familiar with our day-time fast casual style…the happy hour service is a full-service, sit-down style with a server. So, kick back, put your feet up and enjoy some great drinks and food. Our hours of operation are 11a-7p (M-F) with happy hour prices and service from 3p-7p, if we’re busier, we’ll stay open based on traffic in the area. Also, we just celebrated our two year anniversary this week and we’d like to say thanks to everyone for their support!
Thanks, Walker for posting the pics. We love the new awnings and sign. The response today was incredible. Anne, neon would have been cool, but we had a limited budget and commission guidelines to consider. We’re hoping to add lighting in the future. We’re proud to be a part of the growing Gay Street District and we felt that an addition like this would really enhance the neighborhood. We hope you join us for our new happy hour (starting soon), it’s going to take a lot of beer sales to pay for the signage:)
We welcome all feedback. Thanks to the feedback about the chips on this thread, we switched them out about 3 weeks ago and as artbomb112 can attest (since he’s had the new chips), they are much better.
Thanks to everyone for your support of us and the other great Gay Street merchants!
Thanks for the support everyone. Let’s hope that this growth for downtown continues! I/we like the ideas that have been suggested.
