greenhouse1014ParticipantI know a surprising amount of people living there and by surprising amount, I mean 3-4. There’s a newer club there called Fusion in the old Funny Bone spot. The theater still runs and there’s some clubs up there that seem to draw a crowd.
greenhouse1014Participantum, Fuck that. Dirty Franks all the way.
greenhouse1014ParticipantI think the catch about diversity here is not that there’s not a strong MIX of people. I think it’s more that those people do not intermingle much.
greenhouse1014ParticipantI heard the news today, oh boy…

Hmmmm…. it seems, by that logic, most of the panhandlers/solicitors should be in Easton or Polaris, but, strangely, there doesn’t seem to be too many out there. Two words…
Private Property.Obviously. My point was that those practices are banned in those places because it’s bad for business. The failure of city police to enforce aggressive panhandling laws is yet another disadvantage for city businesses.
These practices are banned there simply because they can due to the fact that its private property. It’s bad for business everywhere, but the sidewalks on high are not private property so police are more limited in what they can do.

greenhouse1014ParticipantYou know, one thing that hit ne as I was at Comfest this year…We certainly expect a lot out of a FREE party, don’t we?

greenhouse1014Participantyeah, maybe we should leave the street its present width, widen the sidewalks and put a big ass streetcar somewhere in there.

And the protesting thing, yeah, it’s now 2010 and nobody cares about protesting anymore. PLUS, the civil rights movement was a lot more than protests and it had A LOT more people behind it AND the end game had actual results desired, not just letting BP know how mad we are at them. Your comparison if a fail.
Well I am glad that you speak for everyone and know what year it is. There are wanted results with this protest too:
petition to get support for clean energy initiatives in Ohio and nationwide.
I am not saying that targeting one station is the best solution but sitting behind a compt. yacking about it is not either.you want to protest to petition. hmmm, not finding the sense there… The protest itself has no goals. At least none that I’ve read or heard.
And you’re so smart, when was the last time a protest worked?

You really want to make a difference? You really want to show you care about the environment and what happens to the people in the gulf? Get your ass down there and leave our small business owners alone. Put up or shut up I say.
Oh yeah, everyone has the money and time off to just take off to the South. Good idea.
Protest is about the least effective means of promoting change.
Tell that crap to the civil rights protestors. As far as taking off, yeah, I know, I’m just saying. Depends on your level of passion, I guess.

greenhouse1014ParticipantI think its totally asinine to protest a franchise BP. All you’re gonna do is hurt the owner of the franchise, who had nothing at all to do with the spill. If you think a small protest at a small location will make any difference to BP corporate, you’re simply delusional. Which brings up another question – why this BP? There’s like a million BPs in Columbus. Why this one? If you’re gonna do it, do it right. How about a coordinated effort to protest every BP across town on the same day at the same time? I know, it’s ridiculous to think that could ever happen. Or how about this one? You really want to make a difference? You really want to show you care about the environment and what happens to the people in the gulf? Get your ass down there and leave our small business owners alone. Put up or shut up I say. Protest is about the least effective means of promoting change. Why? Not that many people give that much of a shit anymore. By the way, I bet you’ll DRIVE to the protest. How ironic.
Yes, Greenhouse is back.
greenhouse1014ParticipantI still want this place.

greenhouse1014ParticipantWait, you’re in broadcasting and you don’t know what skype is? Not to sound like an ass, but you might want to crawl out from under that rock and get deeper into your industry. Pick up trade magazines, visit industry websites (these usually have some kind of job listings), anything to keep up on new technologies. I can’t imagine doing what I do (design) and not keeping up on trends and technologies.

greenhouse1014ParticipantYou know, with all this bitching about the bitching, I have to say that, as an ilk, we also post raves about our good experiences with small businesses here too. We don’t JUST bitch, though we do that a lot, we also rave, recommend and promote small businesses that do the “right thing” and actually give us good experiences. In fact, I would say that I’ve seen more positive small business stories here than negative.
