A new residential project for the Near South Side at 482 South Lane. Although the project will replace a large chunk of the surface parking in this area, 245 spaces for 163 units is ridiculous.
Looking at the site plan most of the parking seems to be in a structure under one of the buildings so I really don’t think the number of spots is a big deal. I think the plan is well suited for this site.
Looks like the name is temporary, from Business First:
Q: There was some confusion about the name Millennial, is that about the generation?
A: It’s about the generation. Ultimately we’ll hopefully have an anchor tenant that’s going to want the naming rights to the building. We would hope it would be (in place before the building opens).
Dollar Tree Tower?
The 6th St Mews will be delivered by end of Q1 2016. They are in framing stage right now, and all the side walks will be red brick. I’m very fortunate to live in this neighborhood.
Wasn’t that a month ago?
Anyway I’m hoping we hear about the never piece of development soon. I think someone mentioned the possibility of another “mews” development.April 29, 2016 4:27 pm at 4:27 pm in reply to: 6 Story building proposed to replace Rebecca Ibel building in Short North #1124796April 23, 2016 6:39 am at 6:39 am in reply to: LC RiverSouth – 8-Story & 10-Story Apartment Buildings at High & Rich #1123805
I called LC Communities directly a couple days ago and told them I was interested in possibly moving into the building going up at Rich & High. I asked them if they had any updates on when they are projecting it to be finished and she said they plan on it taking about 18 months from now to be completed.<br>
I have noticed what appears to be more construction workers on site recently than there were in the last few months.
About the time the whole building was supposed to take originally. From a 2013 article:
Construction of the $20.9 million LC RiverSouth building is expected to start in November, which includes the demolition of two existing buildings at the site. The planned completion date is scheduled for sometime in mid-2015.
And that estimate included the demolition of the previous buildings.April 18, 2016 6:30 pm at 6:30 pm in reply to: LC RiverSouth – 8-Story & 10-Story Apartment Buildings at High & Rich #1122949
The crane at the building one site was active today. No steel going up, but it was definitely operating today.
I’m glad it still works!April 17, 2016 10:52 am at 10:52 am in reply to: LC RiverSouth – 8-Story & 10-Story Apartment Buildings at High & Rich #1122772
Construction workers were working away around 10 AM this morning.
Whoa, they are up to two days a week now? I look forward to twice as much progress this year verses last!
I don’t think people have a disdain for green space, but you need some “city” to go along with those parks.
Finally! Great news!March 22, 2016 6:05 pm at 6:05 pm in reply to: LC RiverSouth – 8-Story & 10-Story Apartment Buildings at High & Rich #1119495
At this rate they might be finished by 2010 lol.
Time traveling construction site? I’d be fine driving past tomorrow to find out the building was finished 6 years ago.March 22, 2016 4:41 pm at 4:41 pm in reply to: LC RiverSouth – 8-Story & 10-Story Apartment Buildings at High & Rich #1119475
Looks like the Borrow property on the old Redzone night club spot might get started, built, and completed before the first LC building.
Nice catch! So far it seems Borror has pretty much done what they said they would on their other projects so even if the LC suddenly gets its act together Borror will still finish first.March 21, 2016 4:12 pm at 4:12 pm in reply to: LC RiverSouth – 8-Story & 10-Story Apartment Buildings at High & Rich #1119314
Weren’t we supposed to see steel arriving on-site and it rising in March? We’re rounding out the month and it’s been neither. LC has a real credibility issue from my perspective on this project.
Sorry for any let down from those who thought this was an update as to real progress on the site.
Haha, that’s exactly what I was hoping for.
Well, they still have another week, but following their own schedule doesn’t seem to be their thing.
When I drove past Meijer I saw that area fenced off and the pavement ripped up, but the parking lot lights were all still there so I’m not sure if something is being built or it will just be repaved.
Not the prettiest building, but so much better than another parking lot. I hope the idea to demolish it is rejected.February 26, 2016 4:39 pm at 4:39 pm in reply to: SN's Bollinger Tower being bought, possibly converted to hotel #1115984
I had the opposite idea. Build a ground floor addition to add retail space along High Street. The building feels disconnected they way it is now.
