AmyD – Thanks for the suggestion! I think Local Matters is a great organization! And I wanted to tell you I just LOVE the apron in the Beer Camp prize pack!!
Coreroc – I’ll be sending an e-mail shortly :)
Berdawn – I really enjoy the behind-the-scenes work involved in planning events. I’ve pretty much done it all, and I can’t think of many tasks I wouldn’t consider :)March 25, 2010 7:18 pm at 7:18 pm in reply to: Postcard from the Franklin County Auditor Requesting Property Details #356309
They’re doing aerial photos as well this year in an effort to determine the correct amount to assess. Honestly, if you’re worried about paying too much, it’s probably your best bet to provide them as much information as possible.

Thurn’s on the South Side also has amazing hams. If you aren’t cooking for lots of people, their cottage ham is great. You just simmer it for like 45 minutes on the stove top. Really. that’s it. It’s amazing.
Oh yes, Thurn’s is the place to go. I’m drooling right now just thinking about all the goodies they have there!

If you’re looking for a quick fix to bump your score 20 or 30 points, here’s a suggestion a banker gave me in he past: Dispute everything negative on your credit report. You can do this yourself by going to annualcreditreport.com, where you get a free copy of your credit report. You don’t get the score without paying money though. You’re taken to each of the 3 bureau’s websites and it shows everything on your report. Each website should have an option to dispute by line item. Companies have 30 days to respond to your disputes. If they don’t, the negative item is deleted from your credit report.
When I purchased a home, I did this and my score jumped up 60 points.

$20 but I would guess it’ll get marked down again. It’s a project chair, it’ll need reupholstering due to cat scratches on the arms (I didn’t get close enough to know if that’s all the cat did to it). But it’s a pretty piece, interesting lines and seemed solid.
I’ve always wanted to try my hand at reupholstering

Ahh, ya beat me. I believe it’s called “Buckeye Chicken”?
As for the closed KFC I noticed that last week and ideally some kind of urban infill would be great (the urban overlay has been implemented on High…). This sprawling area totally disconnects Clintonville from Old North Columbus.
Isn’t that the place that says everything is just $1? That kind of scares me.March 21, 2010 10:44 pm at 10:44 pm in reply to: I Am Looking For a Job and Have No Where Else To Turn To #351544
BC – I can only speak for myself, but I think things would have turned out much differently if you’d changed your approach slightly.
From your initial post, it seems like you were looking for leads in the boadcasting/communications area. However, by telling everyone you were desperate with nowhere else to turn, it sort of implied you were desperate (aka not able to pay bills or put food on the table etc)…and desperate people usually jump on the first thing that comes their way.
Overall, I think people were very helpful in the beginning. They really wanted to help, but it did seem like you shot down every idea someone had. Perhaps if the title of your post didn’t make it seem like your siuation were dire, it might have weeded out people giving you job leads that weren’t what you were looking for.
I’ve worked for several restaurants in the past who have used IBM’s POS systems. I never recall having any problems with them.March 19, 2010 6:15 pm at 6:15 pm in reply to: I Am Looking For a Job and Have No Where Else To Turn To #351496
BC- I’m pretty sure Lisa meant $50k a year LOLMarch 19, 2010 5:34 pm at 5:34 pm in reply to: I Am Looking For a Job and Have No Where Else To Turn To #351488
BCNation – you seriously underestimate how much fun you can have in the food service industry. You meet all kinds of people, and if nothing else, it’s GREAT for people watching!
Cameron Mitchell is always looking for people to help in their catering business. You just need to be able to smile and follow directions, and they pay like $15 an hour. They have people that work full time for their catering business, and then others that just help out at large events. Maybe you should give it a try before saying it’s something you wouldn’t enjoy.
And I could swear I saw you working at Wendy’s on Olentangy River Road a while back – or maybe you’ve just got a twin :)
Jeni’s Roxbury Road is the best thing I ever ate! I’m not gonna lie, there are 6 pints of it in my freezer at the moment.
I have had the shark for a while now and I don’t like it as much as I thought it would. I’ve found that it’s pretty tough to push across the floors, and I still haven’t found anything to get the dirt out of the cracks between the planks.
I’m going to have to try some vinegar water next, becuase I’ve tried every floor care product out there. The only thing that comes close to working is Bella Wood’s floor cleaning system, and it still leaves a film on the floor. I feel like I could clean the floors every day and they’d still look dirty. :(
