I am not advocating anything but being observant and calling a spade a spade. Keeping it real!
Another thing about North Star….
People on Northstars patio are buying fair trade organic coffee to pay more to Columbian campesinos and ‘fight poverty’ all while there are always a handful of homeless dudes in front of White Castle sipping on GMO coffee.
Because it is made from delicious ingredients like corn syrup, butter, and fat. Not carob and hemp!
Some hipster developer should build a 7 story McDonalds/Wendy’s/Rallys/Arbys/BK/Jack in the Box/TacoBell/KFC/Waffle House/ InoutBurger/ Sonic/Church’s/ Popeyes/ Sisters/ Taco Ninja/ Crystal/WhataBurger/ etc. fast food palace on the site of that stupid check cashing place at Starr and High.
I am glad that there are now fewer art galleries in the Short North, it will be a more complete neighborhood. Hopefully something useful like a little hardware store will set up shop. I woul;d rather go to a McDonalds than an art gallery. Hey, there is no McDonalds in the Short North!!! Or Wendy’s!
Hey all, read the first sentance of this thread. Then take a breath.
Hey both McDonalds and Northstar are successful firms that do well because they use the same methods to do the same thing- make dependable food and sell it at a profit.
They never have the magazine I am interested in reading like MAD, CLUB, and CRAKED.
And if they were into ‘local’ stuff they would have magazines about Buckeye football, hunting, and car repair being that many more Columbusite are interested in such than they are in holistic pottery. They would have TBDBITL playing over the sound system instead of the usual foreign stuff.
Why do not they serve local food like corn on the cob, pumpkins, venison, tobacco, and sunflower seeds?
I like how the CV northstar has those communal tables in the center. Too bad it is too far out to visit daily.
You want tooty fruity hooty, move to Costa Rica. Here in the Home of the Buckeyes we like it greasy and good.
What’s up with the magazine rack in the place. It must be to distract you from thinking about the lack of any service or real dining. A real chef would be insulted if you read a copy of Adbusters while munching on your ‘wrap’ or hummus nonsense.
Yeah, I second Wootie. This ain’t Europe. We told those Euro assclowns to get out of America 230 odd years ago, and they just do not get it.
Go post the olde Declaration of Independence on CV Northstar’s front door and see if they get the point. If not, we’ll tar and feather ’em with fair trade tar and free-range feathers!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, Eric’s show was great. Folk music is never a sound I search for, but stuff like that is always wonderful. Plus it did not hurt that I was receiving a back massage during the whole show :)
Mike Reed. Thanks for your vehement support of this thread I have been waiting to initiate for a few weeks. I think I saw you from a distance yesterday during Eric Nassua’s peefromance. Hi.
Yeah! Water is for kids and joggers!
Well, I guess they are dishonest then! Boycott local small businesses!!!!!
NorthStar should publish the nutritional values of their items like McDonalds does. I wish Northstar would be a more transparent and honest business.
Northstar sells junk food too- pizzas, cookies, fruity tootie drinks alcohol, and wraps!
artbomb112 wrote What about the architecture…? What about the atmosphere…? What about the plates you are eating on…? What about what the food is cooked on….?
I don’t think Northstar even owns an f***n microwave or fryer.
Are these not things to consider when you are eating?
Yes I do consider these things. Northstars architecture is slightly better, but McDonalds’ has many different styles and looks. Has anyone here been to the Sedona AZ one or the one on I-71 just noth of Kings Island. Those locations are eccentric.
Fryers are sweet- A raw potato is rather disgusting and grainy, but slice her up and toss her in a fryer and you get the best thing in the world- french fries!
