This project has really been a disappointment. Especially considering the seeming level of professionalism on the 250 High project across the street…
Great news, but just get the thing finished already!July 31, 2014 10:27 am at 10:27 am in reply to: Rusty Bucket Tavern + Condos Proposed for Croswell/High – Clintonville #1032494
I must be misunderstanding that variance request because it sounds like they want to send restaurant traffic out onto High and Croswell with zero visibility.
Not necessarily zero visability — the right-of-way includes the sidewalk….so they’re just asking that they are allowed to build the building closer to the access drives. Pretty standard for urban development, but unfortunately the zoning codes prohibit good development often times.July 30, 2014 2:34 pm at 2:34 pm in reply to: Rusty Bucket Tavern + Condos Proposed for Croswell/High – Clintonville #1032392
We’re did you find that info?July 30, 2014 12:49 pm at 12:49 pm in reply to: Rusty Bucket Tavern + Condos Proposed for Croswell/High – Clintonville #1032376
Too bad it’s not a multiple-story development (at least the restaurant portion) to take advantage of views.July 30, 2014 6:49 am at 6:49 am in reply to: Rusty Bucket Tavern + Condos Proposed for Croswell/High – Clintonville #1032337
Good to see this property finally developed. However, I don’t really like the parking and parking access off High Street. I’d rather see more condos to continue the street edge.
There’s a good chance there is nothing going on. That block is chopped up into a lot of smaller lots….so it may just mean someone is trying to consolidate properties as they come available.
I believe it just means the city has revoked their occupancy permit…which, to the deadbeat owner, probably doesn’t mean a whole lot to them, except their property value is pretty much worthless now, and their insurance coverage is probably through the roof.July 18, 2014 8:31 am at 8:31 am in reply to: LC RiverSouth – 8-Story & 10-Story Apartment Buildings at High & Rich #1030199
Anyone have any details on what the hold up is here? There hasn’t been any activity on the site in 6+ weeks i’d say.
Been wondering the same thing. I have to imagine there were some unknown conditions once they took the building down that may be affecting the structure…or maybe they are waiting for some testing results…or they are just waiting to mobilize.
Does anyone know when they plan to begin demolition for the southern tower?July 16, 2014 8:56 pm at 8:56 pm in reply to: Best & Worst Projects Completed in Columbus in The Last 10 Years #1029937
Worst buildings/places for Columbus:
CityCenter parking garage
Nationwide and High
Biggest opportunities for Columbus:
CityCenter parking garage
The Scioto Peninsula
Surface lots off Gay and High
Although I’m sure some awnings and general activity will do wonders.
Yeah, honestly, you don’t notice how ugly the building is when walking down the sidewalk…minus the really sloppy masonry work. Awnings, plants, signs, etc will make it all better.
Any word on retail for HighPoint? I can’t imagine lots of prime real estate staying empty throughout the summer…
There is a bike bridge on Goodale being built as we speak….
At $125 million, that’s a pretty significant development. I’m guessing the high-rise on the corner is still very much alive. I’d expect an announcement soon…June 3, 2014 4:58 pm at 4:58 pm in reply to: Kingsdale Shopping Center — Development News & Updates #1021119
