I hear rumors that Travis is no longer part of it? I thought he was an owner.. of course none of the employees will speak word one.. something is up?
anyone have the skinny?
facebook just says “changed coming to travonna coffee house”
so far it remains open and active as normal…
figure someone here might have more inside scoop than i do

If so, good riddance.
Travis is a convicted sex offender. Got caught victimizing young boys and pled guilty to importuning.March 25, 2013 12:53 pm at 12:53 pm #537697
Not even going to get into the complexity of sex crimes or the definition of importuning ( look it up, chances are you’ve done it once or twice yourself at a bar or two), but I will say Travonna has been good for the neighborhood.March 25, 2013 1:12 pm at 1:12 pm #537698

In Ohio, an adult soliciting a person under the age of 13 for sex is importuning. This seems a pretty straightforward definition to me. I’ve not witnessed importuning at any bars in my life, thankfully. Didn’t realize kids under the age of 13 hang out in bars.March 25, 2013 1:15 pm at 1:15 pm #537699

You don’t have to get into it, but thanks. Also, thanks for making such broad assumptions about me, internet stranger!
I happen to know Travis personally, was one of his former friends and co-workers when it all went down, and know the exact details of what happened involving his case.
I beg to differ with your estimation that a 24-hour coffee shop / daily presence of a child predator is a ‘good’ trade-off for a neighborhood, but you’re entitled to that opinion, I guess.March 25, 2013 1:17 pm at 1:17 pm #537700
Importuning, according to Ohio Revised Code:March 25, 2013 11:02 pm at 11:02 pm #537701

And in 2001 this law also included sexually propositioning someone of the same sex. Like I sad, sex crimes are complicated.
Tbone, I’m not making broad assumptions about you specifically, just behavior in general. I read the crime reports for that area consistently, and there hasn’t been anything untoward in that area that stands out more than the usual car break ins etc., So do I think having a well lit, open store front is better than an empty store front. Yup.March 25, 2013 11:30 pm at 11:30 pm #537702March 26, 2013 1:23 am at 1:23 am #537703

so back to the initial question of this post – does anyone have any info on what might be happening to the business?March 28, 2013 12:26 pm at 12:26 pm #537706
Not knowing what he did I will have to hope that the court has set up some safe guards and that he should be given some second chance. Regardless, it looks like he is leaving and though I have not been there in a while it is nice to have late night places in the the neighborhood.September 11, 2013 1:32 am at 1:32 am #537707

This is where he is. I personally am against second chances for adults who hurt kids. But that’s just me.September 12, 2013 1:05 pm at 1:05 pm #537708

This time a 3rd degree felony, as opposed to a 5th the first time around, 3 years in prison starting in May.
“ATTEMPTED MINOR IN NUDITY MATERIAL”
So… kiddy porn?
The bottom line is that anybody who knows (knew?) this about the owner and still chooses to spend their money at Travonna Coffee Shop is dumb, dumb, dumb.September 12, 2013 1:12 pm at 1:12 pm #537709
The convicted sex offender no longer owns the business. According to their facebook page, there is going to be a name change to the coffee house.
