    1. I don’t think people should have to settle for bad design just because the land is currently undeveloped and/or vacant.
    2. There are vacant buildings that are important to preserve. See Cleveland’s historic Columbia building for an example. It is being torn down to make way for casino parking. Do the positives outweigh the negatives there?

    The vacant building in question here is a freakin’ strip mall where, if I recall, there was previously in this space a Lazarus, a sporting goods store, a supermarket, an Odd Lots, and… I’m forgetting a few other ‘historical’ businesses.

    I’d never been in that building. Did it have any enclosed mallway or were all entrances from the outside?

    Entrances were all outside. pretty standard strip mall. Nothing historical about it. I miss the Baskin-Robbins that used to be on the corner… lots of friend worked there.

    200 New Jobs Coming To Westerville

    WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Walmart is opening a temporary hiring center this month to hire 200 people for a new Supercenter at the Westerville Square Shopping Center. The temporary hiring center will open May 13 and 774 Park Meadow Road.

    Walmart’s long-delayed Westerville store ready to open

    Walmart’s long journey to Westerville is now complete. The mega retailer Wednesday will open the doors to its newest store at 50 E. Schrock Road. The 88,000-square-foot store will have Walmart’s full selection of general merchandise and grocery plus expanded pharmacy and convenience services including a vision center, photo processing and a tire and lube operation. It will employ approximately 200.
