New proposal for 455-465 W. State Street to include 18 2-bedroom 4-story townhomes with rooftop decks in a very contemporary design.

Surprised to see a proposal for a new building here prior to the completion of some of the Peninsula work…great news.

Yeah, the location is interesting. I know this area is seeing a lot of new stuff recently, but mostly in existing buildings that are being renovated. There are tons and tons of empty lots nearby. It’s a proposal you’d see in the Short North somewhere rather than Franklinton.

Well, the City’s website says that FDA is the applicant, so I doubt this is a private developer.

I’m not sure if the developer really matters. It looks to be a solid development in a neighborhood desperate for them. A successful entry into the area will help to encourage more development, including at least some private.

Anyone heard anything about this one lately? Their site was up last year, but now is blank.

also deleted from the city’s website, you’d think they would retain records for more than 3 years, no cached image files anywhere but the google

Looks nice. But this was proposed 3 years ago?

To be fair to this development, no other proposed residential projects have broken ground in Franklinton, either. It might be dead, or it might have run into other issues. Business First just ran a few Franklinton articles about how projects there have run into a lot of trouble getting financing. It would seem that banks may not believe in Franklinton’s revival.
