Wow that was bad. We get it, communism sucks, the market works.
New Urbanist focused developments give people options, not mandates. Anyway, the current low density single family form was pretty much mandated through federal government policies shortly after WWII. It was much more difficult to get a mortgage for other types of property that don’t look like Levittown. The author seems unconcerned with that fact.
