    The latest article from New Geography that continues to fight back in the make-believe “War on Suburbia” attempts to equate urbanism with communism:



    Wow that was bad. We get it, communism sucks, the market works.

    New Urbanist focused developments give people options, not mandates. Anyway, the current low density single family form was pretty much mandated through federal government policies shortly after WWII. It was much more difficult to get a mortgage for other types of property that don’t look like Levittown. The author seems unconcerned with that fact.

In the crosshairs now will not be just recalcitrant Christians or crazed billionaire racists, but the vast majority of Americans who either live in suburban-style housing or aspire to do so in the future. Roughly four in five home buyers prefer a single-family home, but much of the political class increasingly wants them to live differently.
