Walker EvansKeymasterI just got off the phone with Refectory Owner Kamal Boulos who said that he got a couple of phone calls from local media outlets yesterday who had heard rumors that they were closing. He said he’s not sure where that info came from, but they’re doing just fine and aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.
I ran a couple of quick searches around online, but can’t find any sort of rumors like that. Not sure where it came from.
So yeah, Kamal asked that I pass along the word to the CU crowd just in case anyone had heard those untrue rumors and were wondering. ;)

Walker EvansKeymasterSo does this mean no one has heard these rumors? I’m wondering where it came from. He said three different media outlets all called within 2 hours of each other, so the rumor was at least making the rounds to them somehow.

Core_ModelsMemberThat is awesome Kbear. The singles scene used to be so strange, I think it was either Fridays or Max and Ermas that had phones on every table so if you saw someone you thought was hot you could dial their table number back in the day.

Alex SilbajorisParticipantThat building really was the refectory for a convent that used to be there. Back then that area where Bethel crosses the tracks used to be a town called Olentangy. When you’re on the old part of Kenny by the beer store, you can see that the phone poles line up with the poles on Postlewaite, on the other side of Bethel and the railroad.
