What is wrong with a couple of ads here and there if it gives revenue to the thing you love?July 25, 2013 9:20 pm at 9:20 pm #541763
They might as well. It is low hanging fruit and pretty easy to paste an ad on something. You see so much of this these days it just ends up as background noise anyway.

I just hope they are more creative than a monkey with a bottle of Elmer’s
And are capable of something more engaging than pasting logos:July 25, 2013 10:12 pm at 10:12 pm #541765July 26, 2013 2:17 am at 2:17 am #541766
If they need to make the money then you gotta do what you gotta do. They can always remove them at some point and take a shower.
Looking at the image of the baskets and picnic table, I don’t think they need an ad agency.August 14, 2013 1:38 pm at 1:38 pm #541767

The North Market announced today that German Village bakery Pistacia Vera will be opening a bakery stand at the market by December 1st. The move is a bit of a return to the area for business owners and siblings Spencer Budros and Anne Fletcher, who operated Pistachio in the Short North before renaming and relocating to German Village in 2007.

Published on September 25, 2013 9:00 am
As of this morning, North Market shoppers will find a new (yet very familiar) face greeting them upon arriving through the main entrance to the building: Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. The iconic original location for the rapidly growing business has relocated from the west side of the building to the east side of the building as a part of a larger ongoing renovation project at the North Market this fall.

Project Update: North Market Renovations and Relocations
Published on October 31, 2013 8:00 am
In addition to the expansion of The Barrel & Bottle, there’s a whole lot of other changes currently going on inside The North Market. The big renovation project that we first wrote about back in July includes the installation of new ventilation systems, which means that many merchants are relocating and upgrading their spaces in the process.

FINALLY! The bike racks have arrived in the shelter next to the NM! ;)November 4, 2013 7:45 pm at 7:45 pm #541772
related to the parking garage expansion, a friend of mine posted this concept on facebook that his firm submitted. Even though it doesn’t expand the current NM, provides greenspace and hides the parking. Pretty cool I think.November 7, 2013 5:40 pm at 5:40 pm #541773
Market Driven: Renovations make way for a new, improved North Market
By G.A. Benton
From the November 7, 2013 edition
It’s no accident that Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams got its start in the iconic North Market. It’s the pantry (and kitchen) to our city — and a tastemakers’ hangout — where both the past and the future of the Columbus food scene are practically written on the walls and stocked throughout its stalls. Since the venerable market is currently undergoing a radical transformation that’ll soon culminate in a sorta “re-grand opening” (and every day booze service), it’s time for an update.

Pistacia Vera Joins The North Market Family
Published on December 6, 2013 2:10 pm

It’s been almost a decade now since Pistacia Vera joined Columbus’ artisan bakery scene, and in that time, they’ve left quite an impression. Guests flock to the German Village store, located at 541 South Third Street, in droves, for their regular fixes of macarons, croissants, tarts, and tortes.

This is going to absolutely blow my mind the next time I am in town. It’s like seeing Grandma’s house get a remodel. Probably a really nice and necessary remodel, but still a little traumatic/dramatic!
