    Press Release

(Columbus, Ohio, July 26, 2010) – ColumbusUnderground.com Founder Walker Evans announced today the unveiling of a new online resource for the small business and entrepreneurial community. TheMetropreneur.com will go live on Tuesday, August 3rd and will feature news, entrepreneur profiles, advice columns and other information essential to starting a small business in Central Ohio.

“For anyone looking for help on starting a business, there really is no hyperlocal website focused entirely on news, support, inspiration, tips and resources that entrepreneurs need,” said Evans. “The Metropreneur will be a resource where entrepreneurial minds can convene for feedback, advice and help on starting a small business or making their existing small business more successful.”

Additionally, The Metropreneur will contain a free, searchable database of local small business resources. Whether entrepreneurs need help in locating financial assistance, real estate listings, technology experts, insurance agents, design firms or social media training, they’ll be able to find it all in this database. The local resource database will contain over 100 resource listings at launch and will continue to be updated and grow.

“Columbus is a great community filled with entrepreneurial resources,” said Co-Founder and Director of Operations, Anne Evans. “The Metropreneur will make those resources easier to find, easier to understand and easier to interact with. We’re already developing strong partnerships with those resource providers and look to strengthen those relationships in the future.”

The Metropreneur will also function as a “virtual incubator” for Central Ohio, providing resources, inspiration, advice and connectivity in a way that will play a proactive role in Economic Development.

Social Networking and Social Media play a large part in the operations of The Metropreneur. In-house social networking components of the site will allow entrepreneurs to connect with their peers to collaborate, communicate and share information. TheMetropreneur.com will also be tightly integrated into popular social networks including Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn to utilize these tools for two-way interaction between audiences and entrepreneurs. A community of over 1,000 social media fans and followers has already been gathered during the pre-launch “teaser” marketing campaign.

The official launch party for TheMetropreneur.com will take place on Monday, August 2nd from 6pm to 8pm at Due Amici, located at 67 East Gay Street in Downtown Columbus. The new website will be displayed for preview, and a cash bar and free appetizers will be provided for guests.

The launch team for The Metropreneur consists of four new media professionals: Walker Evans, CEO & Co-Founder, Anne Evans, Director of Operations & Co-Founder, Melanie McIntyre, Editorial Director and Jared Thompson, Advertising Director. Interviews with any members of the launch team can be scheduled through Walker Evans.
