DeepWood is a criminally not-as-busy-as-it-should-be restaurant.

Agreed…. the food is fine & their cocktail menu is downright excellent.

Had the lamb chorizo and pastrami and tongue hash at Skillet. Both of these meals are at the top of my list of best things in columbus.

My recent amazing Columbus food item would be the Indo-Dutch Ball from Aromaku. “Crispy fluffy ball filled with cheese, palm sugar, topped with sweet condensed milk & caramel” A very satisfying sweet-savory dessert!

I love everything Aromaku makes. But those Indo-Dutch Balls… they’re something else! A perfect snack!

Skillet has made two amazing dishes that killed me:

Smoked duck quesadilla with roasted pine nuts and tomatillo salsa

Apple pancakes with fresh white cheddar (tangy and creamy) and bacon

Both of those were like sweet, single love affairs.

Both of those sound amazing, but I’ve literally had dreams about their Fried green tomato BLT. One of the best things I’ve ever eaten, and I don’t like BLTs.

When I’m off of my work computer, I’ll try to post a pic.
