Vote on the Best Columbus Food Trucks of 2014
August 8, 2014 7:50 am – Walker Evans
The annual Columbus Food Truck Festival is only one week away, and once again Columbus Underground is co-hosting the event’s online voting component that will crown one local food truck as the absolute best in the city. Due to a wider range of diversity in this year’s line-up of over sixty participating food trucks and carts, we’re doing away with the “best in category” system and going into a March Madness style bracket where food trucks are paired off for multiple rounds of voting and elimination.

Last Friday, we asked our readers to vote on their favorite Food Trucks in our big list of 64 (nearly all of which will be present at this year’s Food Truck Festival, coming up on August 15th and 16th), and the votes poured in all weekend. Over 800 people cast their ballots in the first round, narrowing the field down to just 32.

Worried about parking?? Don’t be!
There is a huge parking garage directly across from the Columbus Commons, as well as many other parking garages in the vicinity! These may cost a few bucks, but they’re super convenient and easy to walk to with a full stomach!
We also have an extra car2go Columbus parking zone right next to the Commons to make parking even easier!
Also, if you don’t feel like driving down, or are worried about driving home with the food coma you’ll inevitably be in…
Take an Uber!! Keep an eye on the page the day before the event for a special promo code to get a ride up to $20 free! Or ride the new COTA C-Bus downtown for free!
Finally, for all of our health conscious friends we will have an easily accessible #bikecorral set up to keep your bike safe during #ColsFoodTruckFest!
Just think about how much more you’ll be able to eat with all of the calories you’ve burned biking back and forth! Sounds like the perfect plan to us!!

Vote on the Final Round for Best Food Truck in Columbus
August 15, 2014 7:30 am – Walker Evans
We started last Friday with 64 food trucks and after more than 10,000 votes cast, we’re down to our final two! Challah! Food Truck beat OH! Burgers and Street Thyme defeated Mikey’s Late Night Slice, both by a narrow margin in the Final Four round yesterday. For those who are unfamiliar, Challah launched in 2013 and is one of the few local trucks that feature Jewish cuisine. Their menu often includes a mix of traditional dishes and modern updates served in easy eat-on-the-go formats. Street Thyme is an old school truck on the scene, having launched way back in early 2012. Their focus is gourmet burgers first and foremost, with complementary shakes and tots to match.
