Watch CU and Street Eats Columbus for any last minute updates or additional vendors.

The boys from That Food Truck are teaming up with some of their mobile food friends to do an all out event at their nightly spot at Gay Street and Grant Avenue (new the Grass Skirt and soon to open Hills Market Downtown). The All-Star line up includes: Blu Olive, OH! Burgers, Sophie’s Pierogi, Flat Top Pizza Co, That Food Truck and more to be announced.

That Food Pod will run from 5 to 10 pm. In a nod to all hallows eve there will be trick or treating (or trucking) from truck to truck throughout the night.

Looking at the above, it reads like a typical Food Truck event with a few twists but this one has a special mission. Fellow Food Forter and Mobile food pal Per Zoot has hit a patch of operational bad luck. The Per Zoot truck is out of service due to multiple mechanical issues. If a truck can not move, it can’t serve to earn money, so owner Matt Swint is pursuing other projects in the meantime. His friends wanted to help him out to help save the “the short bus” so that Matt can get Per Zoot back in shape for special events and some weekend work. Tips from each mobile vendor at the PerZootaThon will go to the Save The Short Bus Fund.

We were already committed to being in Westerville at the Board Game Association meet up, but if you live on that side of town and are unable to make it to Gay and Grant, I will be donating my tips to the Save the Short Bus Fund as well.

Please come out and help get the best (meat)balls in the biz back on the road!

The #SaveTheShort Bus drive is really taking off and growing organically. In addition to Ajumama donating tips to the till, Mya’s and Swoop are looking to pitch in, in some way as well. Davidson Farms – the supplier of the excellent pork on that Food Truck is donating 40 lbs of pork to be raffled off – and this is just with a little word of mouth. It is great to see the food community doing this. I am sure we will hear more as we get closer to the 27th.

Sounds like fun, and I’m glad this is close to home for me… but that’s Highball night! :(

Great way to start or end the night. Highball would be great sandwiched in the middle or at the end.

Reminder to set aside some time to go to #ThatFoodPod to Help #SaveTheShortBus next Saturday. At least one vendor will feature a Per Zoot Sandwich and don’t forget your chance to win 40lbs of Davidson Farms Pork (Chops, Tenderloins, Bacon) in the raffle.

Help us support one of our own in the mobile community.

More details below. The raffle for 1 of 2 20 lb boxes of Pork Products (can you say Twixlen) is pretty attractive to. We know there is alot to do this weekend but we would love any support you can offer to help #SaveTheShortBus.

A little bit of a bump, and a little bit of a shameless plug for my own blog. :) Dan and Steve from That Food Truck were the featured guests at the most recent Too Many Cooks event at Wild Goose Creative.

    Read about it here:

And hopefully you’re inspired to come out on Saturday for That Food Pod! (And perhaps, if you’re so inclined, come to the next Too Many Cooks event as well.)

We will have a tent, chairs, heaters and more so rain or shine, warm or cold, That Food Pod is on for Saturday.

We are excited about the Pork Raffle and the Trick or Treating from Truck to Truck. This is the second to last time you can experience Sophie’s Gastrogi this year and we need lots of tips for the Save The Short Bus Campaign. Drop by before or After Highball Halloween.
