Where can I drop off textiles for recycling? I am talking about fabrics like clothes, sheets, towels, etc. that are too far gone to be donated. I have enough pot holders, rags, and doggie bedding than I know what to do with and I am sure nobody at Goodwill wants my too-worn and stained cast-offs…

I know that there is such a thing as textile recycling in the world but, in Central Ohio anyone?

I think some dog or cat rescues or the Humane Society might be interested in ttowels and the like for bedding.

Any new ideas? There’s a truckload of textiles looking for a local home, the material cannot be reused as garments because it’s covered with law enforcement logos.

It’s great that local fire departments are trying to divert useful textiles from the landfill, if you have any leads please post them, thanks.

I would be glad to take t shirts, sheets and other softer fabrics/worn clothes. I make rag rugs as a hobby an donate part of the proceeds to different non-profits. Please check out my etsy shop and if you have some used textiles, I would be happy to take them. Thanks. Esther

Please PM me a local contact information if you are interested in stuff like this. I have a ton of fabric remnants from projects my kid did that she got from Chelsea House and would rather not toss them out.
