Back from his sold out show in November of 2009, Talib Kweli finally returns to Skully’s.

Last time we had to turn away 200 people at the door. This time we know just how many people we can fit into Skully’s and fully expect to sell this show out with presale tickets alone.

    Don’t miss out!!!

…Get your very limited $15 presale tickets here…

We are already nearly sold out of $15 presales. After posting this FB event, I expect them to be gone by next week.

This event is also in conjunction with the “Are You Radio Ready?” competition presented by Pepsi.

From 9-11pm 8 contestants from the competition will perform their 7 min performances.

Online tickets are running out fast. If Showclix.com says they are sold out, please contact Magnolia’s. Last I checked they still had around 80 tickets.

Then you were the only person. Sorry you felt that way.

Skully rented a huge tent for the Talib Kweli show tonight. So the back patio will be hopping rain or no rain.

It needs a much larger venue. Outland might work – but not Skully’s

Yea, sounds like you were one of the few who didn’t enjoy themselves, based on the link you provided.

Eh, some people will never be satified. Keep doing what you’re doing Schoolboy.

    BTW, I thought Outlands closed?

Nope – still going strong as far as I know:

The show was great – just too many people in too small of a space to be much fun. Needs a larger venue.

Great, I hope they are still doing well; I also hope that Schoolboy can make you happy with a show that’s big, but not too big. Busy, but not too busy. And happening, but not too happening.

At least then, you could still find something to bitch about; drinks that cost too much? Just an idea in case you’re short of them, but I’m sure you are not.

yeah, this show was definitely a wake up call for me. we thought that we could make it work @ skully’s, but this show was just too big…the second part to this story is that i tried to get this show @ boma… that being said, my 3 big spring shows coming up all need to be @ boma.

this time i knew the actual max capacity, so we increased the ticket price and limited the presale numbers accordingly. not to mention, the revamped balcony has made a HUGE difference in both capacity and the ability to navigate the crowd. 3 porta-johns were placed out back too.

we hit 900 on friday. i just don’t see outland being that much of an increase in capacity. if i’m going to give up the much greater sound system for a larger venue, then i’d at least jump up to the bluestone and rent the needed sound for the night. not saying i’d never do a show at outland, but skully’s would have to be already booked first.

thanks for coming to the show though, and thanks for the support todd.
