Speakeasy!! A MadLab Fundraiser

You wanna know the score? On Saturday, September 24, from 8:00 pm –

1:00 am, MadLab is hosting its Speakeasy fundraiser, complete with

casino games, prizes, a full bar, a 50/50 raffle, and a Roaring 20’s

atmosphere—but you have to know the password to get in! Tickets are $25

per person or $40 per couple, and include two drink tickets and $25 in

casino chips per person. Anyone arriving in period costume gets another

Oh, holy moly: this was a great time last year. I freaking love playing dress-up. And playing black jack. And drinking. And drinking while playing cards AND dressing up.

So, basically, this thing is right in my wheelhouse.

Generally, I just throw the dice and then let the dealer tell me if I’ve won or not. Heh.

There is no roulette table this year but I am going to try my hand at poker or even blackjack. I have a feeling I will be losing my money fast.
Everyone come out and enjoy some booze and gambling!!

Saturday is almost here! I’m excited. I just found out I’m dealing blackjack for this thing for a couple of hours. Makes me think about being a kid. My folks started teaching my sister and I math in kindergarden by playing “21” with us at the dining room table. Heh.

I would highly recomend first visiting one of our lovely local liquor-making establishments, such as the Watershed Distillery, for all your gin needs before drinking out of anyone’s bathtub. Although the soapy aftertaste one gets after sucking spirits off of tile grout does give the evening a certain something …
