I’m making an Ohio mix. This is all I’ve got so far:

    1) Look at Miss Ohio (Gillian Welch)

    2) Youngstown (Bruce Springsteen)

    3) My City Was Gone (The Pretenders)

    4) Ohio (CSNY)

    5) Readin’ Rightin’ Route 23 (Dwight Yoakam)

    6) Going to Columbus (Rev. Nick Barry)

    7) New Franklin County Woman (Tim Easton)

    Any suggestions?

Ohio (Come Back to Texas) – Bowling For Soup

Well it’s really more about Texas, but Ohio is mentioned in the song :P

Rubber Factory – The Black Keys

It’s an entire album recorded in Akron, OH.

Maybe Fast Car – Tracy Chapman is about Cleveland?

    “Ohio Moon” by Blake Skidmore.

Cool, I’ll check those out. Thanks.

I have Rubber Factory, but I didn’t think any of the songs mentioned Akron? Ditto Fast Car (with Cleveland). For some odd reason, I’d like the songs to mention Ohio (or a city therein) :)

“Ohio” – by CSNY (edit: sorry I see you already had this one)

“road outside columbus” – OAR (this is a good one with high st. in the lyrics)

Didn’t the Animaniacs sing a song about ohio? Or maybe it was Brak and Space Ghost from cartoon network. All I remember from the chorus is “its high in the middle and round on the sides, O-HI-O”, and they would repeat that over and over.

[ha haaa just searched for the lyrics]

Tell my uncle tell my aunts

I got my teeth in nice and straight

    Chicken nuggets in my pants

I’m on my way to the buckgrass state!

    O-hi-o-hi-o

Round on the end, high in the middle

    O-hi-o-hi-o

    O-hi-o-hi-o (O how hi I o)

    Left my home in Timbucthree

With my banjo on my knee

Look at me I’m Sandra D

    On your way to Ohio

    O-hi-o-hi-o

Round on the end, high in the middle

Here’s a riddle what’s round on the end and high in the middle?

    Oh it’s um…Switzerland?

    No it’s O-hi-o-hi-o! (Oh how hi I o)

Up in Cincinnati-a, there’s a gal named Clareibell

If she knew I’s on my way, I’m pretty sure she’d run like….

    HELLO Cleveland

    Hello Toledo

    Hello Columbus (Bonjourno Braka!)

    Oh-hi-o-hi-o

Round on the end, hi in the middle

Here’s a riddle what’s round on the end and hi in the middle?

    Oh I know this, it’s…

NO! It’s O-hi-o-hi-o! Stupid, stupid dummy!
