Restaurant Review: Northstar Café
Published on September 18, 2013 6:00 am

It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost ten years since Northstar made its entrance on the dining scene. It was one of the first joints in town to espouse sustainable dining practices. That is, it endorses a generally groovy ideology that vows to use some locally grown products, shun Styrofoam, and offer edibles that seems to be pretty healthy-ish.
That is, “healthy” in the not-chemically sense. A diet of Northstar’s giant cookies is probably not going to earn a whole bunch of accolades from the American Dietetics Association.September 18, 2013 2:42 pm at 2:42 pm #551520

Northstar Café Coming Soon to Westerville
By: Ayana Wilson
For fans of popular lunch and dinner spot Northstar Café, there’s good news: a fourth store is set to open in 2014. In the nine years since the launch of the first restaurant in the Short North, two other locations have opened. One in Beechwold at 4241 North High Street, and the other at Easton Town Center.
The fourth eatery will be located in Uptown Westerville. Final address details are not currently available as the city of Westerville still technically owns the lot where Kevin Malhame, founder of Northstar Café, hopes to build.

Just a little kudos to them….We went there for breakfast on the 21st in Clintonville. We always split 1 pancake but we forgot to order it with the rest of our breakfast. Unbeknownst to us, the cashier ordered it up for us and gave it to us anyway. So imagine our surprise when it arrived at our table. That just started our morning off on the right foot. It’s sometimes the little things that make a persons day. The staff is always friendly, the food is always top notch, and I always walk away wanting more! Love Northstar!December 27, 2013 5:07 pm at 5:07 pm #551525

Looks like it may have a roof, or at least Greek pillars as sculpture.
One of my favorite local chains. I think the food at the one up near Whetstone Park is the best.November 20, 2014 2:39 pm at 2:39 pm #1051357

November 20, 2014 2:34 pm – Rebecca Wagner
Upper Arlington’s rapidly growing Lane Avenue area is set to be the location of a new Northstar Café in the near future. Northstar owners Kevin, Katie, and Darren Malhame have submitted plans to open at 1515 West Lane Avenue in a new two-story 13,432 square-foot building developed by The Pizzuti Companies, which will include a restaurant and patio on the lower floor, and corporate offices on the top.
