The bar is currently under going round 2 of the upgrades and has been closed for about a week now, surprisingly closed on super bowl Sunday weekend to start them.

The first set was nice, it’s a little more modern looking inside, the large baseball paintings are gone.

I for one am very excited for pizza by the slice and more beers on tap.

And I will say offering pizza by the slice and more beer is a improvement that is much needed over the ability to order a frozen pizza they cook for you and 3 beer taps. It needed a little life breathed into it, it’s a great location (for myself and anyone in that area I think) and an amazing under-rated patio and just felt like it was running on empty for awhile. The old owners were and still are great people, it’s just really cool to see some more active interest in the place.

Some nights it was a ghost town, but some nights it was packed out, I really don’t anticipate that changing much. Most of those who are in the bar are from the area, I often recognized half the street in their at one time.

Luckily for groundrules finding a dive bar in the area is still really easy to find. At this point Hey Hey looks like total crap so that’s always a good option if you like sitting next to storage and power equipment.

My wife and I almost walked down last weekend to see how the renevations went, but hit the park instead.

Any idea if they are open for beers now? Or are they waiting for a full grand opening?

I just discovered this place at random while we were walking home from Easy Street one night. I’m guessing that was after the first phase of renovations. I can’t say what it looked like before but it seems like a decent place to get a beer. Bonus that it’s literally a block away from where I live. I’m all for underground vibes and I don’t like the pretentious-type places with douch-ey people so let’s hope it stays pretty chill!

Yeah, “The Brick” is one of those quintessential neighborhood bars that has been a well kept secret for a while. What you might find interesting is that the owner of Easy Street bought it last year and is in the process of updating it. Not exactly sure what the final product will look like, but I believe it will be a nice improvement with reasonable beer and food prices. Post if you hear anything more.

As of yesterday its still closed 100%, I’ll be happy to update the tread when I see it open.

It absolutely blows my mind that in a city as tight as Columbus the masses allow this guy to prosper. So many people know who his best friends and investors are. Buy a gyro….fund porn.

If they’d throw in some free porn with said gyros, I’d probably buy even more.

So what’s the problem? Or is this gonna turn into another anonymous slam thread?

Has anyone heard an re-open date for the bar?

The bar posted signs in the window last weekend, says “Red Brick Tap & Grill Coming Spring.” So sometime in the next few months…

Anyone know of any updates on this? The sign is still out front saying “opening in the spring” and it looks like the place is still closed.

They have been working on the place almost daily for months. I peak inside when I can, still looks like there is some work to be done. They landscaped a bit more, and have done a little work on the patio.

Spring is now gone, an official update would be great.

I’ll update as soon as I see it open or put a date on the door.
