Recommend me a new downtownish lunch spot

My wife and I have a thing where we try to meet for lunch downtown, about every month or two and try to hit a new place each time. I need the expert advice here to work a new place off the list. It needs to be within a five minute drive of Broad and High and needs to be an hour from pick up to drop off back at Nationwide. The list to date:
Barcelona fixed price three course
The fish place that was Damons when they did lunch
Martini when they did lunch
I know I am missing something important in GV or the short north. What is a good Thursday upcoming lunch spot?November 6, 2013 2:48 am at 2:48 am #554001
A few off the top of my head
Double Happiness lunch
Superchefs (I think they are a breakfast and lunch only spot)November 6, 2013 2:57 am at 2:57 am #554002

Yipes — where to start? :) Good, fun question! Suggestions:
El Arepazo – Pearl Street near Gay. Amazing Venezuelan — try the Tilapia Salad and don’t miss the housemade sauce in mild or spicy.
Cafe Plantain – Cuban. Next to Tip Top on Gay. Sandwiches, soups and more. Bonus points for being open on weekends for us downtown residents.
Lexi’s on Third – deli – housemade corned beef, BIG sandwiches, great burger. Near corner of Third & Broad.
Si Senor – relocated to Lynn Alley between Pearl and Third. Peruvian, wonderful sandwiches, empanadas, soups and desserts. Such great people.
The Elevator – good lunch experience — great variety, sandwiches, salads, pastas and more around $10 – $12. Share the habanero wings or corn dog-style brauts for an appetizer. Between Spring and Broad on High.
Deli Boys – near corner of Long & High — homestyle sandwiches and soups made by the Boys. They remember your name and what you order. Really nice guys and good food to value ratio.
Lots more but I’ll let some others chime in.November 6, 2013 2:59 am at 2:59 am #554004

Is that new taco joint open for lunch in that former crappy Dae Olive cheese on mussels space? That may be nice for you two.November 6, 2013 12:53 pm at 12:53 pm #554008
An excellent list and Thanks! I am going to keep it for the future months. I think the winner is going to be Katzingers. Been a ton, not for about twenty years when my girlfriend, now wife, lived in an apartment at Beck and Pearl. That was back when the Brewery District was happening and there was the Patio, Gibby’s and Hosters. Ah to be twenty something again. I wonder if they still have the Bustling Birdwich.November 6, 2013 1:29 pm at 1:29 pm #554009
Casa Sazon. You can get American deli or Venezuelan Arepas.
Danny’s Deli if you like a corn beef or pastrami sandwich that’s about 6 inches thick.November 6, 2013 2:10 pm at 2:10 pm #554010
