from the article:
The city’s Downtown Commission will allow two linked buildings with a combined 76,000 square feet at 109 N. Front St. to be demolished this year. The Department of Finance and Management will review design proposals from nine architectural firms for a project expected to cost $40 million to $60 million.
David Bush, the city’s assistant finance and management director, said the development could offer up to 100,000 square feet of office space and begin to fulfill a decades-old plan to consolidate the city’s downtown offices within the two-block stretch along Front Street.
The current building is 4 stories, so I’d think this would put it in the range of 5-6 for the new building.May 7, 2013 1:57 pm at 1:57 pm #451633

The west end of Gay Street is looking all streetscaped and nice. Open to pedestrian and bike traffic, but pylons are keeping auto traffic from driving all the way through:February 6, 2014 1:39 pm at 1:39 pm #451636

This winter has not been good for the Columbus Police Headquarters, apparently exacerbating the mayor’s frustrations surrounding it. “The CPD building is the worst building ever built in the city of Columbus,” Mayor Michael Coleman told ABC 6/FOX 28.

Strong words for a city that built the Dioxin Production Facility (aka the trash burning power plant) and the original Maloney health center on Parsons (the one where they forgot to seal the roof).February 6, 2014 4:58 pm at 4:58 pm #451638
It sure is a dog of a building. Seems like they are slightly hinting they would like to demo the building and put something in its place…February 6, 2014 6:02 pm at 6:02 pm #451639
