CyclingExplorerParticipantBeat the Heat this summer in the cool, underground caverns!
The Olentangy Indian Caverns are a series of natural underground caves, passages, and rooms occupying three different levels. The caverns were formed millions of years ago by an underground river that cut through the limestone rock. They were used by the Wyandotte Indians as a refuge from the weather and from their enemies the Delaware Indians.

EvilAntonParticipantThis is something cool to do once or twice. Much better for children under ten for repeat visits. It sparked a lasting interest in gemology and geosciences in my now teenage daughter.

AchekovParticipantI’m still waiting for the heat, lol. But seriously, these are a fun place to visit and I second the recommendation!
I thought that I heard these were for sale a few years ago. Any idea who runs them now?

CoremodelsParticipantLast time I went here, was as a chaperon for an elementary school class. Being about 3 feet taller than anyone else in the group, I was the perfect height for a bat to fly directly into my face.
I’m pretty sure I screamed louder than any of those children and made their school year.
