    Press Release:

COLUMBUS, OHIO (February 25, 2014) – The Ohio Machine acquired former Tewaaraton Award winner and Team USA midfielder Kyle Harrison from the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) player pool, President & General Manager John Algie announced today. The Machine also acquired former Salisbury attackman Erik Krum. The team forfeited a third and a seventh round pick in the 2015 MLL Collegiate Draft and waived midfielder Cameron Mann to complete the transaction.

“Adding Kyle Harrison gives our team a dynamic and versatile midfielder who also provides a veteran presence for our young core,” Algie said. “One of Kyle’s best assets is his team-first mentality and he will be a great addition to our locker room.”

Harrison, who earlier this month was named to Team USA for the upcoming Federation of International Lacrosse World Championships, is a six year veteran of MLL and a former All-Star. He totaled 103 points, 57 goals, 44 assists and 111 groundballs in 51 career games over his six MLL seasons. While at Johns Hopkins, Harrison won the 2005 Tewaaraton Award as the nation’s top player and helped lead the Blue Jays to the 2005 National Championship. Harrison joins Peter Baum and Steele Stanwick as former Tewaaraton Award winners on the Machine roster. Should Machine draftee Tom Schreiber, a Tewaaraton Award finalist last year, win the award this season the Machine would be the only team in MLL with four Tewaaraton winners.

“I’m so excited for the opportunity to join the Machine and do whatever I can to help bring a championship to Ohio,” Harrison said. “I’ve missed the camaraderie of Major League Lacrosse and I’m looking forward to getting back out there with the roster of great players they’ve put together.”

The Machine also acquired former Salisbury attackman and Adrenaline Athlete Erik Krum from the MLL Player Pool. Krum helped lead Salisbury to the 2008, 2011 and 2012 Division III National Championships. He finished his collegiate career with 192 points and 149 goals, which ranks ninth all-time on the Salisbury career goals list. This past year, Krum led the LXM PRO Tour with 36 goals in 11 games and in 2012 scored 22 goals in six LXM PRO games.

“Erik Krum is a tough inside finisher that will complement our existing attack group and push for playing time,” Algie said.

Both Harrison and Krum had been playing in the LXM PRO Tour, part of Adrenaline Lacrosse. Earlier this month, MLL announced a partnership with Adrenaline, allowing LXM PRO players to participate in MLL, and MLL players to participate in the LXM PRO Tour. Harrison is a sponsored athlete of STX.

Full season tickets for the Machine’s 2014 season are now on sale. Season ticket holders will be eligible to win prizes and unique experiences as part of the Machine’s March to the Season Promotion during the month of March. Over 70 total prizes and experiences will be awarded to Machine ticket holders through daily drawings. Season tickets to the Machine’s 2014 season range from General Admission at $92 to a Field Level Box at $2,400 and include seven regular season home games plus a 2014 MLL playoff game.
