Also the whole thing about B of A taking this money while A) telling everyone everything was swell and B) lobbying against Frank-Dodd really gets my blood boiling.

It’s incredible that this is getting so little coverage.

Well the US stupidly outsourced control of its own currency back in 1913 to the very banks that have been screwing us ever since. Fundamentally this should be part of every school curriculum but it isn’t even taught even in most colleges. The media avoids it like the plague too.

We are the only nation on the planet which has such an incestuous and corrupt banking arrangement set up like ours is and there is a price to be paid for that, especially when the growth paradigm comes to an abrupt end. The fact of the matter is the banks have gotten exactly what they desire for decades. Now that they can no longer make money lending it into existence and collecting interest I expect the banking parasites to seek and use any and every means of collecting money they can even outright fraud and systemic corruption thru govt support. All part of the game.

It is kinda interesting to watch the developments unfold too. Anyone been in 100 east broad lately? Notice anything strikingly new and unique at Chase Bank?

um, I’d just be happy with the Fed not giving out cash without telling anyone, including congress.

you have no say in the matter and that is by law, Federal Reserve Notes belong to and are controlled by the FED, it is their money and they can issue it to anyone

not only that but by law there are NO penalties for the FED breaking any law as it is subject to no penalties and almost zero enforcement by law…..it can invoke its emergency clause at any time and has been operating under it for 3 years and counting which it allows it to do whatever it pleases

Bernanke has testified about it numerous times, some rather embarrassing footage of that is available on youtube etc yet few in govt nor the American people seem to get the point and are willing to do anything about it. Some people are ok with being robbed it seems.

see the Federal Reserve Act and Title 12 of the US code

According to today’s news headlines and stuff spewed by Geithner I would expect the FED to start providing money in earnest to European banks and nations in order to keep the ponzi going a bit longer, we get to cover the losses :)

MBTA’s giant bus, the Civil Disturbance Unit, appears at anti-NDAA demo today

The 80 or so people who marched today from the former Occupy Boston site at Dewey square to the JFK federal building in opposition to the National Defense Authorization Act were surprised to see this giant monstrosity pull up briefly in front of the demo:

The bus might seem a little bit overkill, but that’s precisely the point. The unit’s commander in 2007 told the Globe:

We want to serve as a deterrent…When people see us, we want them to know that we’re prepared, trained, and ready to go.

So did they drive the bus past the anti-NDAA protest to send us a message? If so, that’s awfully chilling and hostile in the face of a completely non-violent demonstration.

Willie Nelson, one of the musicians involved with Farm Aid, says “occupy the food system” :

“From seed to plate, our food system is now even more concentrated than our
banking system. Most economic sectors have concentration ratios hovering
around 40 percent, meaning that the top four firms in the industry control 40
percent of the market. Anything beyond this level is considered “highly
concentrated,” where experts believe competition is severely threatened and
market abuses are likely to occur.

Many key agricultural markets like soybeans and beef exceed the 40 percent
threshold, meaning the seeds and inputs that farmers need to grow our crops
come from just a handful of companies. Ninety-three percent of soybeans and 80
percent of corn grown in the United States are under the control of just one
company. Four companies control up to 90 percent of the global trade in grain.
Today, three companies process more than 70 percent of beef in the U.S.; four
companies dominate close to 60 percent of the pork and chicken markets.”
