The Fifth by Northwest Area Commission will be joining the ranks of the University Area Commission, Clintonville Area Commission, Northland Community Council, and many other neighborhood associations in celebrating the fabric of our neighborhood on Tuesday, Aug. 4th from 630-8pm at our regular meeting space at St. Luke’s UMC 1150 W. Fifth Avenue and you are invited to attend/participate/share your food truck-fare, speak, set-up a booth to show off your local artwork/restaurant fare, etc.
We feel that we have much to celebrate in our neighborhood – as one of the most liveable, vibrant, walkable, developing, exciting, and diverse areas of Columbus City! Please mark your calendars to attend the event – which is open to all who live, work and play in our neighborhood: Olentangy River Rd. to Third Avenue, Wyandotte Rd. to Kinnear! We have just finished a traffic planning session with an Urban Planner for our area of town, as well are in the process of approving zoning for several new restaurants in the town (with slight modifications!): Sweet Carrot/formerly Rife’s Market, and another replacement for Graffiti Burger (soon to come!)… Please join us to hear more about this, as well as hear two candidates for Columbus City Council – one Republican/one Democrat speak!
If you would like to exhibit or just have questions about the event, please TEXT: 614-702-8706 or post to this blog. We look forward to meeting you at the “Neighborhood Open House” in the Community Fellowship Hall of St. Luke’s in the heart of 5XNW on W. Fifth Ave. Thanks! Yep Graffiti burger is going to be a press grill! And, the developer putting in the apartments behind Kroger’s is going to do a pocket park/dog park on Chambers where the old gardening center used to be! We asked to do this as a part of his development plan – and feel that it will be an exciting addition to the neighborhood to have additional green space & our first official dog park! We are talking about the Grandview Village apartments off of Chambers & Chesapeake to the West of Krogers… Woo hoo! :)June 24, 2015 1:07 pm at 1:07 pm #1082237
So it’s actually going to be another Press Grill, or is it another concept run by the same owners? Not sure why there needs to be two Press Grills so close to each other.June 30, 2015 10:42 pm at 10:42 pm #1083112
They (Press Grill) are going to do a different menu and design for their restaurant in 5XNW than their place in the Short North.July 1, 2015 10:48 pm at 10:48 pm #1083193
The event details are coming together we have a local artist, two bakers (one for pets and one for people), a food truck, possibly the Press Grill, a developer who is putting in a green space and other neighborhood improvements, maybe some recycling folks, a dance troupe, possibly a bank/credit union – and more coming! We are talking to Yahbikes! about a neighborhood bike ride… all local and part of the fabric of what makes 5XNW a truly vibrant, diverse, growing, and dynamic neighborhood to live in! Should be a great event… more details to come! Bring yourselves, your neighbors, mark your calendars for Tuesday August 4th from 630-830pm at St. Luke’s UMC, 1150 W. Fifth Avenue – inside & out! Look for the signs lining W. Fifth Avenue leading up to the event… get a window cling that has the 5XNW logo & more… lots of fun activities that night celebrating what a safe, accessible, and neighborly area of Columbus it is!July 7, 2015 1:13 pm at 1:13 pm #1083806
