Internet gaming café’s would be banned in Ohio under legislation introduced this week by State Representative Matt Huffman. The café’s operate as sweepstakes where customers buy internet time that is converted to credits on computer terminals where they play casino style games.

Wednesday May 22, 2013 11:47 PMCOLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio lawmakers voted to ban the 600 cafes across the state Wednesday afternoon. One internet café owner says the vote wasn’t fair. “We’re all going to be on unemployment. We’re all going to be looking for food stamps. That’s not what we want,” Jimmy Brisson said. Brisson owns Cyber World Internet Café in Grove City.

Walker EvansKeymasterMost of the ones I’ve seen have signs calling them “Skill Games” and not “Internet Cafes”. In Columbus they can mostly be found in decrepit strip malls, but I’ve seen them in small towns all over Ohio as well.
