Just a minor correction… I believe the JP development you’re referring to is called “North Block”:

    http://northblock.com

“North Bank” is something else entirely. ;)

You’re right, I always misstate that development.

I’m thinking… chip and putt. Those lofts will sell if they are advertised as fronting a golf course :)

    Nevermind. ;)

Ha! That’s actually a pretty good idea! Dedicate a portion of the space to something like that. ;)

frickin genius! seriously, you want people from UA, Dublin, New Albany, etc moving downtown, this would be a HUGE incentive…

I also was interested in the North Block condos there. We got the pitch and everything and loved the green idea. They also have a park and retail planned in there. It all sounded great but the quickness in which they were building was not very promising. Im pretty sure they just told everyone that X of X were sold so that you would buy into it. They were also ungodly expensive, green-ness aside, if I remember correctly the one we were interested in was about $150k and only 800ish square feet. The condo we bought in UA was $144k and almost 2000 square feet.
It would be nice to see this get off the ground, but its not looking hopeful :(

Joe Recchie seems to have a history of taking peoples money then not completing the project.

Remember his development at 1312 E. Broad St?

I know that he’s still in court over that one.

Jeffrey Place’s completed street grid was used to capacity for parking at the Italian Festival. At least that’s a plus.

Sure would be interesting to see how many years ago it would have been completed if Wexner or Edwards had developed it.

A golf course and country club would be perfect!! Italian Village would far outshine it’s favored step sister to the west, Victorian Village, as they don’t have one and have no room to put one! This is exactly what this district needs!!! Only one festival a year with gorgeous Italian hunks hanging around for the Italian Fest just hasn’t cut it … let’s get them to hang out throughout the rest of the year, and a country club would greatly afford that. A la victoire!!!!

I’ve watched this site for 3 or 4 years now … I heard that they had a lot of zoning and environmental problems. I think the slow down in the economy and housing has really hurt them too. Personally, though, I don’t think it is a good location. Who wants to be surrounded by a freeways, a railroad track and factory?

Any word? I saw a light on in a unit about four nights ago.
