Most of you have heard of Yay Bikes! at some point in the last year. In an effort to reach out to the greater Columbus community, we finally made it on CU. Over the months we’ll be sure to keep you posted on events and other happenings.
You can also stop by during any of our open office hours at 82 E. 16 Avenue, just east of High Street, off campus in the Summit United Methodist Church. Hours are: Tuesday 6-9 PM, Friday 2-5 PM and Sunday 12-3 PM.
Over the last year we have been working on a number projects. We are right around the corner from becoming a non-profit organization; we put together a successful “Gears and Garden” bicycle tour for the American Community Garden Association-which included bikes from our growing community fleet; our own Mike Reed was recognized for his work during B2WW ’09 by the League of American Bicyclists and we are actively pursuing new educational opportunities for area cyclists.
Upcoming events include two commuting courses taught by League of American Bicyclists instructors on October 25th and November 7th and participation in the Ohio Transportation Engineering Conference on October 27th and 28th.
We look forward to serving Central Ohio and helping make this a more accessible community.May 8, 2012 2:45 am at 2:45 am #307309
