PatchParticipantDid they close up shop yet?
Its interesting that their lease runs on for a few more years, and they would rather keep paying rent and close up than remain open.

GCrites80sParticipantThat’s usually a sign of losing less money by being closed. Are Grandview strip shoppers into major national chains or do they go there for local flavor only?

ricospazParticipantNot closed. Ate there today

bleuboy23Member“Welcome to the Grandview All-in-One! While you’re waiting for your nails to dry, and your hair to curl, please grab a bottle of wine, choose a wood-fired pizza, and talk loudly about your shopping finds in nearby Upper Arlington. Ready to go? Snatch a flavored coffee drink and a frozen treat before heading over to the gym. Can’t find your keys? Ask our pervy German owner to help you check your pockets!”

Panera moving to Grandview Yard, leaving Grandview Avenue space for Cameron Mitchell
Dan Eaton – Staff reporter – Business FirstHow’s this for a You Pick Two? Panera Bread Co. is getting a new Grandview Yard bakery-cafe and Cameron Mitchell is getting an old Panera. Panera is taking a to-be-built 3,850-square-foot building on the north side of Third Avenue next to the Giant Eagle Inc. supermarket under construction in Nationwide Realty Investors’ expanding mixed-use development.

tonloc620ParticipantWow this is great news, a free standing restaurant and a drive through to add to the car dependent development going on along third avenue. Why do we have to give into bad development patterns when are we going to learn.

UrbanPlanner2112ParticipantThis whole Cameron Mitchell thing is starting to feel like a restaurant zombie / sci-fi movie. The aliens are invading and reanimating dead restaurants as Cameron Mitchell places. All that’s missing are giant pods. Whatever you do: Don’t fall asleep!

JaredParticipantyou nailed it

I’d guess that maybe Panera would be interested in one of the outlots in front of the eventual new Giant Eagle? That way they could put in a drive thru as well.As far as the old location, I don’t Grandview could support a 24 hr diner. I mean, how many drunks want to drive into Grandview at night with that heavy police presence?
