Too many developers are missing the opportunity to reach the mushrooming number of empty-nesters and retiring Baby Boomers. Rather than upsizing or remaining in a place with almost 6,000 square feet, many members of this demographic are probably looking for something smaller and easier to maintain during an active retirement. I have seen very few condos, patio homes, apartments and homes in the 1800-2400 square foot range.
If I was the developer of this new condo, I would have a total of three condos on each floor with the option of buyers being able to combine units.
