Walker, I promise I looked for old threads first :)
What have you been drinking and liking lately, for those of you who also really like beer? I always like to get new recommendations for beer – it gives me an excuse to not be at my computer at 11:30 on a Saturday night and go out and try them!!
I have been drinking a lot of Arrogant Bastard and waiting for the Bell’s Hopslam to come out…oh, and PBR :)January 19, 2008 11:26 pm at 11:26 pm #164551

Changes depending on my mood.
Sam Adams Cream Stout was a good one I had recently.
Also, there’s a microbrewery up here (though it’s actually a bit big for a “micro”-brew at this point … perhaps a “mesobrewery?”) called Great Lakes Brewing Co. that makes a couple of different varieties that are worth the slightly higher price. I like their Dortmunder Gold and Burning River Pale Ale, and I actually only today found a variety pack that has their Edmund Fitzgerald Porter in it, which I’m eager to find a good time to try (I’m more a dark beer drinker, but the Burning River was outstanding nevertheless … and has a little bit of Cleveland attitude about it with the name, too ;)).January 19, 2008 11:54 pm at 11:54 pm #164556
mmmm Great Lakes!
Can you visit the brewery there? Do they serve food?January 20, 2008 12:33 am at 12:33 am #164557
No clue. And it’s so late that I’m even too lazy to Google.January 20, 2008 1:04 am at 1:04 am #164558
Yeah, you can visit it and chow.
Favorite right now: Double Chocolate Stout.January 20, 2008 1:15 am at 1:15 am #164559
I’m also a dark beer guy. My favorites include Guinness, Beamish, and a number of beers from Samuel Smith’s, including the Oatmeal Stout, the Nut Brown Ale, and most of all the Tadcaster Porter.January 20, 2008 2:02 am at 2:02 am #164560

They have a restaurant. Make a lot of dishes w/ their beer.
I am not sure about tours, but it is likely. They are very proud of their green practices.

Columbus Pale Ale from Columbus Brewing Co. or that Bell’s Two-hearted Ale.
Is 8:20 too early? think the kids would mind?
