There is a truck on the corner of Hague and Fisher that has empanadas in the name. I can’t vouch for anything, but they seem to specialize in them. Also, Si Senor on Long St. downtown has them. Also can’t vouch for the quality, but if they are anywhere near as good as the sandwiches they should be excellent.November 28, 2012 4:43 pm at 4:43 pm #521435

The best empanada I’ve had in town came from Si Senor. It’s just one of the many things they do well.
I just saw that a new empanada truck opened on Wilson Road:

For those who may not be familiar, the empanada is, in many ways, the Spanish version of the calzone – a stuffed sandwich filled with either savory or sweet ingredients that’s usually baked or deep-fried. It was born as street food, but has grown into a very mature epicurean treat.

A team of empanada entrepreneurs test-drove a food business concept at Seventh Son last year to see how crowds would react to their gourmet take on the popular latin dish. This weekend they’re ready to make their debut with a new name: Bolsanada.

I really want to try out their mofongo version.
The craving is strong today.November 22, 2015 8:57 am at 8:57 am #1103427
I’ve been to Dada more than a half-dozen times now. Rather than being fried, which is the typical way to make them, they bake their empanadas. I think they are better that way. Very nice people run the place too! In addition to the mofongo, try the black & blue and the Argentinean.
