NewsParticipantExpress at Easton Gets a Makeover
Published on July 27, 2012 8:00 am
By: Melanie McIntyreExpress at Easton Town Center has been given a makeover. The 12,500-square-foot store, at 4090 The Strand East, now features a redesign by Masamichi Katayama, principal at Japanese interior design firm Wonderwall. The store concept debuted at King of Prussia Mall in King of Prussia, Pa. in June 2011.
Elements of the concept can be found at all new Express stores in the United States and Canada, as well as stores under renovation. However, the Easton Express is among a select few −just 7 percent of the retailer’s 600-plus stores− that will be completely redesigned by year’s end.

mrpoppinzsMemberI would kill to have a Nordstrom Rack located downtown or in the Grandview Yard. Damn you Wexner for making me spend 20 minutes in a car to get to these great stores.

surber17ParticipantEaston might be the most frustrating place ever….. its like someone found out how to win the lottery every week but after winning it once decides to change their strategy

SnarfParticipantIf only Easton were like downtown with no parking and bums, then it would be like so hip, teehee.

Can you explain what you mean? I’ve never had any difficulties going/shopping at Easton. Are you really “frustrated” at it for specific reasons?, or you just want to bash corporate shopping malls and damn the man.

I just feel like Easton did such an amazing job with with the “Community” shopping center concept, so good in fact that it survived a huge downturn in retail and has malls all across the world copying their model, but then in places like Easton Market and Easton Gateway they completely abandoned the model that obviously works and made them so famous.
In this story the frustration comes in because they are landing some great stores and if they stuck with the Community model this would not only be a great destination, but an amazing part of the city to live in. If Easton Gateway and Easton Market were mixed use extensions of Easton, I believe the areas around Easton would see more organic growth.

vestanpanceParticipantgotcha, so your frustration is not about the shopping there currently, it’s about the future non-community style of development they are planning.
That I agree with, strip malls don’t have the same feel.
