Columbus Named Most Intelligent Community:
Third year in a row we’ve made this list; first year at number 1.
Easy to pick apart the methodology, I suppose. Still, even from just a marketing perspective, it’s awfully nice press.June 12, 2015 2:58 pm at 2:58 pm #1080474
“Ohio ranks #1 in affordable rental properties” so, if you think the prices are high here, just remember that they are higher in many other places. Columbus is in Ohio… (okay it’s an indirect ranking):November 20, 2015 4:44 pm at 4:44 pm #1103332
Columbus Ranked #8 City for Cat Ladies
November 20, 2015 4:38 pm – Walker Evans
2015 has been a big year for Columbus in terms of national rankings. We’re the third best city for Millennials, seventh least religious city, fifth fastest growing craft beer city, fifth best city for renters, sixth best city for creatives and the number one city for wage growth. Of course, none of that matters compared to the revelation that Columbus is the 8th best city for cat ladies.

A pretty solid list, and much more thoughtful than normally is the case with this sort of thing (I just picked up a smoked pheasant at Thurn’s this morning!). I’d have liked at least one craft beer reference (for uniqueness, perhaps Rockmill?), but that’s just me.
One tiny quibble: Columbus isn’t a major college town, it’s a metro area of 2 million, the fastest growing large city in the Midwest and one of the fastest growing nationally. But I suppose everyone in here knows that already.December 30, 2015 10:51 am at 10:51 am #1108545

Well we had the number one spot, but just about the worst write up. “Unexpected”, the worst photo of all(the photos of Fort Worth and El Paso making them look like paradise by comparison), and the ending(last impression left of Cbus)-Better have your snow shovel handy. SMH. I think after reading them, every other city had a write up that was at least marginally better.
Just look at this site to see the many fine photos of downtown from many different angles, but they had to use a distorted ugly airplane shot for us? The impression that the article/photo left was of a brown dirty city best seen from an aiplane(flyover country) that has bad weather.
I mean they make El Paso seem better than Columbus!February 2, 2016 2:13 am at 2:13 am #1113019
Glad we made the top spot, but agreed, a better picture of us, please!
